Greek National Road 65 is a national highway of Greece. [1] It connects the Greek National Road 2 at Diavata, a northwestern suburb of Thessaloniki, with Kilkis. Most of the National-Road has been upgraded to a Motor-Road, connecting Thessaloniki via Kilkis with Doirani, the eastern border of Greece and North Macedonia.

The Road will be constructed as a Motor-Road, the part Nea Santa until Kilkis are ready, the second part after Kilkis will be constructed until 2014.

History

Ministerial Decision G25871 of 9 July 1963 created the EO65 from the short-lived EO39 from 1955. [2] [3] In 1998, the Hellenic Statistical Authority extended the EO65 designation from Kilkis to Petritsi via Mouries, taking over some of the Kilkis regional unit's Provincial Roads. [4]

Greek National Road 3 is a single carriageway road in Greece. It connects Elefsina near Athens with the border of North Macedonia at Niki. It passes through Larissa and Florina. At Niki, it connects with the M5K motorway to Bitola. The section Kozani - Niki is also designated as the A27 motorway, part of which is operational as a 2-lane motorway.

National Road 5 is a single carriageway road in western Greece. It connects Antirrio, at the north end of the Rio-Antirrio bridge, with Ioannina in northwestern Greece, passing through Agrinio and Arta. The southern part, between Amfilochia and Antirrio, is part of the European route E55. The northern part, between Ioannina and Amfilochia, forms the European route E951. It passes on the east side of the Ambracian Gulf. In the future much of the traffic that used this road will be diverted to the new A5 motorway motorway, which has already taken over parts of the road. Νear Arta there is a 200m. tunnel which opened in 1969

Greek National Road 6 is a national road in north-central Greece. It begins at the port of Igoumenitsa and ends at Volos, passing through the towns Ioannina, Metsovo, Trikala and Larissa. The section between Metsovo and Volos is part of the European route E92. The road runs through five regional units and the regions of Epirus and Thessaly.

The A24 motorway is a partial controlled-access highway and limited-access road in northern Greece. The A24 runs from Thessaloniki to Nea Moudania, starting as a short motorway spur from the A2 Egnatia Odos motorway to the junction with the Thessaloniki Inner Ring Road at the neighbourhood of Efkarpia: the A24 continues as a limited-access expressway, following the Inner Ring Road towards Kalamaria, before turning off south towards Nea Moudania and Kallithea on the Chalkidiki peninsula.
