Hopewell is an unincorporated community in Jefferson County, Alabama, United States. Today it lies mostly within the corporate limits of the City of Bessemer. The historic Sadler Cemetery lies nearby which contain the graves of many pioneer settlers of western Jefferson County. [2]

The Jefferson County School System is the second-largest public school system in Alabama. It is the third oldest school system in Jefferson County preceded only by the Birmingham and Bessemer School Systems. The Jefferson County School System was created in 1896, and initially served all unincorporated communities and cities in the county other than Birmingham and Bessemer. Beginning in the late 1960s and early 1970s various other cities began to establish their own separate systems. Old Stone Church and Cemetery United States historic place

Old Stone Church is a church building built in 1802. When it was constructed, it was in the Pendleton District, South Carolina. When Pendleton District was divided in 1826, the church was in Pickens District. When Pickens District was split in 1868, it was in Oconee County, South Carolina. In 1968, this section of Oconee County was annexed back to Pickens County. The church is about midway between the centers of Pendleton and Clemson. It is now in the city limits of Clemson.
