Jaat is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action thriller film written and directed by Gopichand Malineni (in his Hindi debut), and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory. [4] [5] The film stars Sunny Deol in the lead role, Regina Cassandra as the female lead role and Randeep Hooda as main antagonist. Ayesha Khan, Saiyami Kher, Zarina Wahab, Bandhavi Sridhar, Vishika Kota, Praneeta Patnaik and Doulath Sulthana will see in supporting female protagonists. Vineet Kumar Singh, Prashant Bajaj, Ajay Ghosh, Dayanand Shetty, Jagapati Babu and Babloo Prithiveeraj will also see in supporting antagonists.

Principal photography commenced in June 2024 and was extensively filmed across Hyderabad, Bapatla and Visakhapatnam. The film's music is composed by Thaman S. [6]

The film was announced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory on 19 October 2024, coinciding with Sunny Deol‘s 67th birthday on their social media accounts, along with the first look poster. [7] The poster revealed Deol's first look in which, he had an uprooted fan in his hand. [8] A new poster was released by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory on 24 January 2025, in which Deol was seen holding a rocket launcher. In this poster, the release date of the film was set announced as 10 April 2025. [9]

Casting

Gopichand Malineni announced his new project SDGM after the success of Veera Simha Reddy (2023). According to the first reports, the main protagonist role played by Ravi Teja. However, the film shooting was stopped due to some of the budget. However, the makers did not reveal the real reason. Meanwhile, Gadar 2 (2023) become a blockbuster at box-office for Sunny Deol during that time. Deol has visited the role to many Directors for new films. Thus the director Malineni officially announced their film SDGM in June 2024. [10] [11]

Regina Cassandra also participated in the ceremony of SDGM. However, she officially joined the film on June 21, 2024 as female lead role opposite Sunny Deol. [12] Randeep Hooda joined the film in August 2024, as the main antagonist. [13] Initially, Randeep Hooda was not ready to play a negative role, but on Sunny Deol's urging, Randeep agreed. Deol explained that his brother Bobby Deol plays the role of a villain, while he only plays a character. People do not consider Bobby as a villain, but as a character. [14]

Ayesha Khan, Saiyami Kher, Zarina Wahab, Bandhavi Sridhar, Vishika Kota, Praneeta Patnaik and Doulath Sulthana also joined the as supporting female protagonists. [15]

Filming

Principal photography began in June 2024 and was extensively shot across Hyderabad, Bapatla, and Visakhapatnam. [16] Anal Arasu, Peter Hein, Naga Venkat and Ram-Lakshman were roped in as the action directors. Action sequences were filmed across Hyderabad, Mangalore and Agumbe. [17]
