Jack Cera is a former member of the Ohio House of Representatives,representing the 96th district. [1]
A Democrat,Cera was appointed to his current term to replace Lou Gentile,who left to assume a seat in the Ohio Senate. Cera previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1983 to 1996,but was ineligible to run for another term because of new legislation introducing term limits. [2] [3]
During his service in the House and while out of office,he served as head of the Jefferson–Belmont Regional Solid Waste Authority [4] and in various voluntary positions in Belmont County.

Interstate 470 (I-470) is a 10.63-mile-long (17.11 km) auxiliary Interstate Highway of I-70 that bypasses the city of Wheeling,West Virginia,United States. I-470 is one of 13 auxiliary Interstate Highways in Ohio and the only auxiliary Interstate Highway in West Virginia. The western terminus of I-470 is an interchange with I-70 in Richland Township,Ohio. Traveling southeast through rural Belmont County,I-470 approaches the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge,which spans the Ohio River. After crossing the river into Ohio County,West Virginia,the highway continues east toward the Wheeling communities of Bethlehem and Elm Grove and its eastern terminus at I-70 near Elm Grove. The portion of the highway in West Virginia is named the USS West Virginia Memorial Highway by proclamation of then-Governor Cecil H. Underwood on the 59th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The Bellaire Bridge or Interstate Bridge is a privately owned,closed cantilever truss toll bridge that spans the Ohio River between Benwood,West Virginia and Bellaire,Ohio. It provided a link for commuters between southern Ohio border towns and West Virginia steel mills from 1926 to 1991.

Belmont Glass Company,also known as the Belmont Glass Works,was one of Ohio's early glassmaking companies. It was named after Belmont County,Ohio,where the plant was located. The firm began operations in 1866 in a riverfront village along the east side of the county,which is known as Bellaire. At that time,the community had resource advantages that made it an attractive site for glassmaking. Bellaire's location at the intersection of the Ohio River,the National Road,and two railroads meant it had an excellent transportation infrastructure. Fuel necessary for the glassmaking process was also readily available,since Belmont County was part of the eastern Ohio coal region. Bellaire also had a workforce with glassmaking expertise located less than five miles away,since glass had been produced in Wheeling,West Virginia,since the 1820s.
Henry Crimmel was an American glassmaker who became well known in Ohio and Indiana. A German that came with his family to America at the age of eight years,the American Civil War veteran started at the lowest level in glass making,and learned every aspect of the business. A skilled glassblower known for his glassmaking expertise and the recipient of two patents,he also worked in management in at least three glass factories –and was one of the co-founders of the Novelty Glass Company and the reorganized version of Sneath Glass Company. He retired with over 50 years in the industry.
The Brick Tavern House is a former inn on the National Road west of St. Clairsville,Ohio,United States. One of the oldest National Road taverns still in existence,it was built in the early nineteenth century. Although it fell into dilapidation during the late twentieth century,it was named a historic site in 1995,and extensive restoration was to be performed in the early 2010s but to date,has not been.

He defeated Democrat Richard Olivito and Libertarian Oscar Herrera in 2020,winning 66.4% to 30.4% to 3.2%,thus flipping the district from Democratic to Republican.
