The One Hundred Thirty-Fifth Ohio General Assembly is the current meeting of the Ohio state legislature, composed of the Ohio Senate and the Ohio House of Representatives. It convened in Columbus, Ohio on January 3, 2023, and is scheduled to adjourn on December 31, 2024. The apportionment of legislative districts was based on the 2020 United States census and the 2022 redistricting plan. The Ohio Republican Party retained the majority in both the Ohio Senate and Ohio House of Representatives.

He served in the Ohio Senate from 2007 to 2016. He has also served as Majority Leader since 2017 serving under five different speakers and two interim speakers. After 24 years in the Ohio General Assembly, Seitz has decided to retire at the end of his term in 2024.

On March 10, 2021, Marcia Fudge resigned her seat in the United States House of Representatives after being confirmed by the United States Senate to serve as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in the Biden administration. Governor Mike DeWine set the primary date for August 3, concurrent with the special election in Ohio's 15th congressional district. The general election was on November 2. Shontel Brown won both the competitive Democratic primary and the general election, and was sworn in on November 4.

Veronica Sims is an American politician and non-profit administrator serving as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from the 33rd district since 2024. She was appointed to replace Tavia Galonski, who resigned from office. She previously served as a member of the Akron Public Schools school board from the At-large district and as the president of the Summit County Council.
