Jackie Shroff (born 1 February 1957) is an Indian actor. He has been working in the Hindi films for almost four decades and till now has appeared in more than 250 films in thirteen languages (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Konkani, Odia, Punjabi, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Gujarati and English). [1] [2] He has won four Filmfare Awards among other accolades. He has also appeared in several successful short films.
After a small appearance in Swami Dada (1982), Shroff made his lead debut with Subhash Ghai's Hero (1983), which made him an overnight star. He went onto establish himself with successful films such as - Teri Meherbaniyan (1985), Aaj Ka Daur (1985), Karma (1986), Ram Lakhan (1989) and Parinda (1989), winning Filmfare Award for Best Actor for the latter. The year 1993 proved a major year with successful films King Uncle , Khalnayak , Aaina and Gardish (1993). His other critical and commercial successes include 1942: A Love Story (1994), Rangeela (1995), Bandish (1996), Agni Sakshi (1996), Border (1997) and Bandhan (1998).
In the 2000s, Shroff took on more supporting and negative roles in films such as Mission Kashmir (2000), Yaadein (2001), Devdas (2002), Baaz: A Bird in Danger (2003), Aan: Men at Work (2004), Bhagam Bhag (2006), Dhoom 3 (2013), Housefull 3 (2016), Bharat (2019) and Sooryavanshi (2021). Shroff's work in other languages include - Punjabi film Sardar Saab (2017), Konkani film Soul Curry (2017), Tamil film Bigil (2019) and Telugu film Saaho (2019) and Odia film Daha Balunga (2013).

Amrish Puri was an Indian actor, who was one of the most notable and important figures in Indian cinema and theatre. He acted in more than 450 films, established himself as one of the most popular and iconic actors in Indian cinema. Puri is remembered for playing various roles in a variety of film genres, especially iconic villainous roles in Hindi cinema, as well as international cinema. He reigned supreme in villainous roles in the 1980s and 1990s, when his dominating screen presence and distinctive deep voice made him stand out amongst the other villains of the day. Puri was active in both art cinema such as in some of Shyam Benegal and Govind Nihalani's films as well as in mainstream cinema. Puri won three Filmfare Awards for Best Supporting Actor in eight nominations. He also holds most Filmfare Award for Best Villain nominations.
Rangeela (transl. Colourful) is a 1995 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film written, directed and co-produced by Ram Gopal Varma. It stars Aamir Khan, Urmila Matondkar and Jackie Shroff. The film was A. R. Rahman's first Hindi film with an original score and soundtrack, as his previous Hindi releases were dubbed versions of his Tamil films.
Yaadein (transl. Memories) is a 2001 Indian Hindi-language musical drama film written, directed, edited and produced by Subhash Ghai. The ensemble cast cross over film starring Jackie Shroff, Hrithik Roshan, and Kareena Kapoor. The film was released worldwide on 27 July 2001 to negative reviews and was a box office disappointment. Jackie Shroff received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor at the 47th Filmfare Awards. Despite its box office failure, the film was profitable due to ancillary revenues of ₹21 crore, including ₹8.2 crore from selling music rights to Tips.

Burman composed the music and Khurshid Hallauri wrote the lyrics. Binod Pradhan served as the film's cinematographer and Renu Saluja was its editor.

In 1995, he received the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for Drohkaal. Saudagar is a 1991 Indian Hindi-language drama film, directed by Subhash Ghai. It starred two legends of the Hindi silver screen, Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar, in lead roles. It was the second film in which the two actors came together after the 1959 film Paigham. It featured the debut performances of Vivek Mushran and Manisha Koirala, the latter becoming a noted Bollywood actress in later years. Amrish Puri, Anupam Kher, Mukesh Khanna, Dalip Tahil, Gulshan Grover, Dina Pathak and Jackie Shroff are also featured in the movie. The story line is influenced by the famous play Romeo and Juliet and Mandhaari's role is parallel to that of Friar Laurence in Romeo and Juliet. It was also inspired by the 1985 Pakistani Punjabi movie Haq Mehar.
Ram Lakhan is a 1989 Indian Hindi-language masala film directed by Subhash Ghai and written by Anwar Khan with screenplay by Ram Kelkar. Ram Lakhan stars an ensemble cast of Raakhee, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Madhuri Dixit and Amrish Puri in lead roles. The supporting cast includes Paresh Rawal, Anupam Kher, Gulshan Grover, Saeed Jaffrey and Satish Kaushik. Music of the film was by Laxmikant–Pyarelal, while Anand Bakshi penned the lyrics. Ghai also did a special appearance in the song "Tera Naam Liya Tujhe Yaad Kiya".
Hero is a 1983 Indian Hindi-language romantic action film directed by Subhash Ghai. Starring Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri, it marked Shroff's debut in a lead role. Its music directors were Laxmikant–Pyarelal. Upon release, it became a blockbuster at the box office and established Shroff as a leading Bollywood actor.
Ahmed Khan is an Indian choreographer, producer, director, and writer. After a period of acting, he has moved into film choreography, as well as writing, producing, and directing various Bollywood projects. In 2019, Khan also was on the judging panel of the celebrity dance show Nach Baliye 9 on Star Plus.

Heropanti is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language romantic action film directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film features newcomers Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon, alongside Prakash Raj in a supporting role. It is a remake of Telugu film Parugu (2008) starring Allu Arjun and Sheela Kaur in leads, and was released on 23 May 2014. A sequel titled Heropanti 2 was released in 2022.

Pagala Premi was his first movie, for which he earned an Odisha State Film Award for Best Actor. Sabyasachi got his second state award for Emiti Bi Prema Hue. He won the Filmfare Awards East as best actor for Mu Eka Tumara in 2013.

It stars Jackie Shroff, Guggu Gill, Daljeet Kalsi, Neetu Singh, Sudesh Berry, Shivendra Mahal, Karamjit Anmol, Sardar Sohi & Yaad Grewal in the lead roles. A remake of the 2013 Tamil film Thalaivaa, the film was released worldwide on 6 January 2017.
Daha Balunga is a 2013 Indian Odia language drama featured film directed by Sudhakar Basanta. The film stars Babushaan, Sanjana Mitra and Jackie Shroff. Abhijit Majumdar is the music director.
