The Green Party of the United States (GPUS) is a federation of Green state political parties in the United States. As of 2023, it is the fourth-largest political party in the United States by voter registration, behind the Libertarian Party.

Roger Frederick Wicker is an American attorney and politician serving as the senior United States senator from Mississippi, a seat he has held since 2007. A member of the Republican Party, Wicker was a Mississippi State Senator from 1988 to 1995 and the U.S. Representative from Mississippi's 1st congressional district from 1995 until 2007.
Augustus Freeman Hawkins was an American politician of the Democratic Party who served in the California State Assembly from 1935 to 1963 and the U.S. House Of Representatives from 1963 to 1991. Over the course of his career, Hawkins authored more than 300 state and federal laws, the most famous of which are Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the 1978 Humphrey-Hawkins Full Employment Act. He was known as the "silent warrior" for his commitment to education and ending unemployment.

A member of the Democratic Party, Thompson served as the chair of the Committee on Homeland Security from 2007 to 2011 and from 2019 to 2023. Joshua Keck Harder is an American politician and venture capital investor who has served as the U.S. representative from California's 9th congressional district since 2019. He previously served in the Mississippi House of Representatives from the 66th district as a Democrat from 2020 to 2024. He ran for the 2023 election to the Mississippi Public Service Commission for the Central District, defeating Republican incumbent Brent Bailey in a rematch of their 2019 race. He assumed office in 2024.

The 2023 Mississippi House of Representatives election was held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, to elect all 122 members of the Mississippi House of Representatives to four-year terms. It was held concurrently with elections for all statewide offices and the Mississippi State Senate. Primary elections took place on August 8.
