Kaziranga University (KU), officially established as The Assam Kaziranga University, is a private university [1] located at Koraikhowa, on the outskirts of city Jorhat in Assam, India.
It was established in 2012 through The Assam Kaziranga University Act, 2012 created under Assam Private Universities Act 2007. [2]
Founded in 2012, The Assam Kaziranga University well known as KU is one of the largest private universities in North-East India. The Assam Kaziranga University has been established under the Assam Private University Act No. XII of 2007, offering state-of-the-art education and research relevant to market needs. The University has been promoted by the Trust under the banner of The North Eastern Knowledge Foundation (NEKF) and founded in the year 2012 by the Khetan Industrial Group. The social sensitivity and responsible entrepreneurship of both the groups have helped them to imbibe a culture of proedification in their endeavour and give back the knowledge and experience to the society that they have gathered over years of service to the nation.
The TAKU insignia attempts to visualize the guiding mission of the University. The one-horned rhino, available nowhere else in the world but the Kaziranga belt, symbolizes uniqueness. It also stands for steadfast concentration in one's pursuit, overcoming obstacles of all kind.
The one-horned rhino in the logo represents a confident and disciplined lifestyle that is not drifting aimlessly, but is respectfully connected to its roots. The sun on the top right corner, the timeless star of life, symbolizes knowledge as the eternal source of enlightenment. Overall, the shield is supposed to protect us from the invasion of ignorance in our lifelong pursuit of true knowledge and its humanist applications beyond. The golden border hints at the shining glory that rewards every stellar performance upon completion.
The KU campus is located at Koraikhowa, on the outskirts of Jorhat city near NH 37. The campus is very conveniently connected with air, rail and road transport.
The University provides courses in Engineering, Management, Computing Sciences, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Pharmacy and Basic sciences. It has seven constituent schools:
Kaziranga National Park is a national park in the Golaghat, Sonitpur, Biswanath andNagaon districts of the state of Assam, India. KNP has 5 ranges. The park, which hosts two-thirds of the world's Indian rhinoceroses, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. According to a March 2018 census conducted jointly by the Forest Department of the Government of Assam and some recognized wildlife NGOs, the rhino population in Kaziranga National Park is 2,613. It comprises 1,641 adult rhinos and 385 calves.
The Indian rhinoceros, also known as the greater one-horned rhinoceros, great Indian rhinoceros, or Indian rhino for short, is a rhinoceros species native to the Indian subcontinent. It is the second largest extant species of rhinoceros, with adult males weighing 2.07–2.2 tonnes and adult females 1.6 tonnes. The skin is thick and is grey-brown in colour with pinkish skin folds. They have a single horn on their snout that grows to a maximum of 57.2 cm (22.5 in). Their upper legs and shoulders are covered in wart-like bumps, and aside from the eyelashes, ear fringes and tail brush, Indian rhinoceroses are nearly hairless.
Jorhat Engineering College founded in 1960 by the Government of Assam, is a government engineering college in Assam, northeast India. The college, affiliated with Assam Science and Technology University, is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education. It has five four-year undergraduate programs: Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Mechanical Engineering. It also offers master's courses in Computer Application (MCA), Civil Engineering Electrical Engineering. It also offers PhD courses.
Kathmandu University (KU) is a public autonomous university in Nepal. Jorhat is an administrative district of the Indian state of Assam situated in the central part of the Brahmaputra Valley. The district is bounded by Majuli on north, Nagaland state on the south, Sivasagar on the east and Golaghat on the west. On the north of the district, the river Brahmaputra forms the largest riverine island of the world. The administrative seat is at Jorhat city.
Dibrugarh University is a collegiate public state university in the Indian state of Assam. It is located at Dibrugarh, Assam, India. It is the second oldest University in Assam and in the North East. It was set up on 1 July 1965 under the provisions of the Dibrugarh University Act, 1965 enacted by the Assam Legislative Assembly. The University was established to build it as a Center of Science and Technology. As the University was planned as a centre of higher education in science and technology, Bhoj Raj Seth, an eminent mathematician of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, was appointed as the first Vice-Chancellor at the initiative of the then Education Minister of Assam, Dev Kant Barooah.
Kohora is a small town situated in the Golaghat district of Assam. It is the main entrance of the world-famous Kaziranga National Park. It lies on the National Highway 37(Asean Highway 1). Kohora lies between Nagaon and Golaghat.

Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology, formerly Jorhat Science College is an engineering college established in 1971 by the government of Assam. It is located in Sotai, on the outskirts of Jorhat city. It is the first science college of Upper Assam and the third state-government-run engineering college of Assam. It is affiliated to Assam Science and Technology University. It is also the only government engineering college of Assam which offers both engineering and basic science courses.

Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) is a premier state technical university located in Jalukbari, Guwahati, Assam, India. It was established in 2010 by the Assam Government under the Assam Science and Technology University Act 2009. It is only the premier Technical University in North-east India.

Assam Combined Entrance Examination (Assam-CEE) is a state-government controlled centralized entrance examination, conducted by the Assam Science and Technology University for admission into the seven premier government engineering colleges in Assam. The test is taken after the 12th grade for admission to graduation courses. The exam can be taken by those who studied Pure Science stream in plus two level with the specific subjects tested in the examination, which are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. Every year approximately 25,000 - 40,000 students take the examination, and it is increasing every year. Students of both Assam Higher Secondary Education Council and the Central Board of Secondary Education board take the test. Formerly the examination was conducted by Dibrugarh University and since 2018 it is conducted by Assam Science & Technology University. It was previously known as the Assam Joint Admission Test (Assam-JAT) until the year 2012 and comprised both engineering and medical entrance examinations. Since then, the medical section of JAT was known as Assam Medical Entrance Examination (Assam-MEE).
