The chemical companies of the large-scale chemical synthesis in Poland (Polish : Wielka synteza chemiczna) at the beginning of the 21st century, underwent the a process of intensive reorganization. [1]

History

Since the majority of entities in the sector of great chemical synthesis was owned by State Treasury at that time, the reorganisation and privatisation strategy was developed for the sector of great chemical synthesis. [2]

It identified, e.g. weak connections between the particular production plants and the necessity to reorganise them. The effect of this strategy was, e.g. the consolidation of the chemical and fertiliser industry, by establishing Grupa Azoty. [3] [4]

Grupa Azoty Jednostka Ratownictwa Chemicznego Sp. z o.o. - production-service company, a member of the Polskie Konsorcjum Chemiczne sp. z o.o., owned by Grupa Azoty S.A. seated in Tarnów. Its activity includes, e.g. particularly dangerous works, specialist-rescue services, industrial sewage treatment and utilisation and waste storage. The company uses ca. 200 ha of storage yards. It also provides support for fire fighting units in the case of chemical threats.

Grupa Azoty Automatyka Sp. z o.o. is a Polish design-construction company, a member of Polskie Konsorcjum Chemiczne Capital Group sp. z o.o., owned by Grupa Azoty S.A., seated in Tarnów. Zachem Chemical Plant in Bydgoszcz or Zachem was a firm established in 1948 in Bydgoszcz, Poland, and liquidated in 2014. Zachem was operating in the domain of chemical synthesis. Several of its activities survived in local enterprises in and around Bydgoszcz.
