Johor Bahru, colloquially referred to as JB, is the capital city of the state of Johor, Malaysia and the core city of Johor Bahru District, the second-largest district in the country, by population. It is the second-largest national GDP-contributor among the major cities in Malaysia, and forms a part of Iskandar Malaysia, the nation's largest special economic zone, by investment value. The city has a population of 858,118 people within an area of 391.25 km2.
Taman Negara is a national park in Peninsular Malaysia. It was established in 1938 and 1939 as the King George V National Park after Theodore Hubback lobbied the sultans of Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan to set aside a piece of land that covers the three states for the creation of a protected area. After independence, it was renamed Taman Negara, which means "national park" in Malay.

The Kelantan River is a major river in Kelantan, Malaysia. Its drainage basin is about 11,900 km² in northeast Malaysia, including part of the Taman Negara, and flows northwards into the South China Sea. The rainfall over the area varies between 0 mm in the dry season (March–May) to 1,750 mm in the monsoon season (November–January). The average runoff from the area is about 500 m³/s.

Endau-Rompin National Park is a protected tropical rainforest situated within a massif in the southern foothills of the Tenasserim Hills, straddling Segamat and Mersing Districts in northeastern Johor and Rompin District in southern Pahang. It covers a total land area of approximately 870 km2 (340 sq mi), making it the second-largest national park in Peninsular Malaysia after Taman Negara. It has approximately 26 km (16 mi) of trail. It is the second national park proclaimed by the government of Malaysia. Gunung Besar, the second-highest peak in Johor, is in the park.

The Johor River is the main river in the Malaysian state of Johor. The 122.7 km long river has a drainage basin of 2,636 km2 and flows in a roughly north–south direction, originating from Mount Gemuruh and then empties into the Strait of Johor. Its major tributaries are the Sayong, Linggiu, Tiram and Lebam Rivers. Its banks are also known to be the location of past capitals of Johor, the Johor Lama. The Sungai Johor Bridge, officially opened in June 2011, is the first bridge to span the river and is currently the longest river bridge in Malaysia.

Tun Sulaiman bin Ninam Shah was a Malaysian businessman and veteran politician. He was also former member of Johore State Council for Muar Coastal (1954–1959) and Johor State Legislative Assembly for Parit Jawa (1959-1964), former Senator (1979-1985) and the 6th Deputy President of the Dewan Negara (1982-1985). He was one of the founders of United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) and former Permanent Chairman of UMNO (1976-2003).
The Mount Ledang National Park is a national park located in Tangkak District, Johor, Malaysia. It contains the 1,276-metre tall Mount Ledang, Johor's tallest mountain. It was established in 2005, and is now one of the most famous hiking spots in the state.
Dato' Suleiman bin Abdul Rahman was a Malaysian politician who served as Minister of the Interior (1959–1961) and Malaysian High Commissioner to Australia from 1961 until his death on 6 November 1963. He was the eldest son of Abdul Rahman Mohamed Yassin, 1st President of the Dewan Negara (1959–1968) and the brother of Ismail Abdul Rahman, 2nd Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia (1970–1973).
