Ligonier Armory was an historic National Guard armory that was located in Ligonier, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991, [1] but was demolished during the late 2000s to facilitate residential redevelopment of the site.
Built between 1937 and 1938 as a Public Works Administration sponsored project, this historic structure was a T-shaped brick building that was designed in the Art Deco style. The two-story front section housed a drill hall, with a one-story administrative section in the rear. Additions were completed in 1962 and 1972. [2]
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. [1] The armory was demolished in the late 2000s, and the site redeveloped with residences.
Ligonier is a borough in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,513 at the 2020 census. Ligonier was settled in the 1760s. The borough is well known for nearby Idlewild Park, one of the oldest amusement parks in the country; and nearby Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Another tourist attraction is Fort Ligonier Days, a parade and craft market that takes place every fall over the course of three days, and the Ligonier Country Market in the summer months. Ligonier is part of the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Wellsboro Armory, is a historic National Guard armory located in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, in Tioga County. It was built in 1932 for the Company I, 103rd Medical Regiment of the Pennsylvania National Guard. The armory consists of a brick building laid out on an "I" plan, with a two-story drill hall sandwiched between a two-story administrative section and two-story garage.
Altoona Armory is a historic National Guard armory located at Logan Township, Blair County, Pennsylvania. The main armory building was built in 1938, and was an "I"-plan building in the Moderne style. The front section housed administrative functions and the rear was the former two-story stable area for the cavalry unit. Between these sections was the riding hall, which had a round arched roof. It was one of nine armories built in Pennsylvania between 1912 and 1938. Demolished.
Tyrone Armory is an historic National Guard armory located at Tyrone, Blair County, Pennsylvania. It was built between 1912 and 1918, and is an "I"-plan building built of Medina sandstone in the Late Gothic Revival style. The two-story front section houses administrative functions, and the rear is the former stable area. Between these sections is the drill hall, which has a hipped roof.

Connellsville Armory is a historic National Guard armory located at Connellsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. It was designed by Pittsburgh architects W.G. Wilkins Co. It was built in 1907, and consists of a two-story administration section with a rear one-story drill hall in a "T"-plan. The 55 foot by 110 foot building is constructed of brick on a coursed ashlar foundation. It has a number of Tudor Revival / Late Gothic Revival style details including a two-story entrance arch, a gabled parapet, and brick polygonal towers.
