Star World is an English language entertainment television channel originally launched on 15 December 1991 by Star TV in Hong Kong as the old iteration of Star Plus. Originally available in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong, as well as India and South Asia, since 2024 it is only available in the Middle East and North Africa after the closure of the Indian and Taiwanese feeds.

The television industry in India is very diverse and produces thousands of programmes in many Indian languages. Nearly 87% Indian households own a television. As of 2016, the country had over 900 channels of which 184 were pay channels. National channels operate in Hindi and English, in addition to channels in several other languages including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Assamese, Gujarati, Urdu, Bhojpuri, Kashmiri, Konkani and Haryanvi, among others. The Hindi, Telugu and Tamil language television industries are by far the largest television industries in India.

DD Free Dish is an Indian State-owned free-to-air satellite television provider owned and operated by Public Service Broadcaster Prasar Bharati. It was launched in December, 2004. In March 2022, It has a reach of over 43 million households which is more than 25% of the total TV households in the country. DD Free Dish earns by selling slots to private broadcasters through e-auction.

Zee Telugu is an Indian Telugu-language general entertainment pay television channel in India. It was launched on 12 September 2004 as Alpha TV Telugu. and was rebranded as Zee Telugu on 18 May 2005. The channel is owned by Zee Entertainment Enterprises. Zee Entertainment Enterprises also launched a Telugu movie channel named Zee Cinemalu in September 2016.

Pacific Broadcasting Services is a company jointly owned by City West Centre Broadcasting Services and BPHCL. Its core business is to deliver satellite subscription television and radio broadcasting services to the Fiji Islands and surrounding markets, focussing on both Hindi and English speaking households and commercial outlets.

AXN is a pan-Asian pay television channel owned by KC Global Media Asia, which is based in Singapore. It primarily airs action, police procedural, and crime-arrested shows, mostly came from North America. The network was formerly wholly owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, but the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa channels were sold to KC Global Media in January 2020.

Canal+ Afrique, originally Canal+ Horizons or Canal Horizons, is an African version of subscription TV provider Canal+. It was originally available mainly in the francophone countries of Central and West Africa, as well as some non-francophone countries such as Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Ghana, and Cape Verde, but has expanded considerably since its first broadcasts in December 1991. Groupe Canal+ has its biggest market in Africa since its acquisition of 32.6% of South African provider MultiChoice in June 2023.

AXN was an Indian pay television channel that was owned by Sony Pictures Networks. Funded through advertising and subscription fees, AXN primarily focused on action genre and reality programming.

JioStar, registered as Star India Private Limited is an Indian media conglomerate joint venture. Though Reliance Industries owns 16.34% of the joint venture, while Viacom18 holds 46.82% and Disney India 36.84%, the JV is controlled by Reliance Industries. In November 2024, assets of Viacom18 merged with Disney Star to form JioStar. It is the largest television and entertainment network in India. It operates more than 100 TV channels and owns two major streaming platforms, Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema.
