CNN International South Asia is a Pan-South Asian English-language news channel based in New Delhi, India. The channel is owned by CNN Worldwide, a news division for Warner Bros. Discovery. It was launched on pay television, in 1995. The channel is targeted toward India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, and Maldives. [1]
CNN International only reached the urban population in India. To reach the Indian masses, Turner Broadcasting System together with an Indian company, Global Broadcast News (currently TV18 Broadcast Limited), launched the channel in India as CNN-IBN on 18 December 2005. The channel was completely run by TV18 Broadcast Limited, which only used the Cable News Network (CNN) brand name. [2]
In 2017, a retired Lieutenant General and now a frequent TV news analyst and commentatator, Talat Masood told CNN International about Pakistan's nuclear capabilities and nuclear deterrent against any attacks on the country. [3]
In October 2018, the Supreme Court of Pakistan directed the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to issue directives to all foreign channels broadcasting in Pakistan to make them aware that, under the existing Pakistani law, they are not permitted to have more than 10 per cent foreign content. This law's purpose was to have the foreign channels focus on local news events also, rather than rehash and rerun broadcasts of American and European TV programs. [4]

Nickelodeon Pakistan or Nick Pakistan, was a Pakistani pay television channel. It was the Pakistani feed of Nickelodeon, which is operated by domestic media company ARY Group's Digital Network subsidiary under a brand licensing and programming agreement with Paramount Networks EMEAA. The network transmitted over the AsiaSat 7 satellite to cable and satellite viewers in Pakistan and features some portions of the schedule dubbed or subtitled in Urdu, along with some content directly imported from its Indian sister network. It also occasionally licenses Western market children's films.
PTV Sports HD is a 24-hour state-owned sports channel operated by the Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV).
Pakistani dramas, or Pakistani serials, are televised serials produced in Pakistan. Although most of the serials are produced in Urdu, an increasing number of them are produced in other Pakistani languages such as Sindhi, Pashto, Punjabi and Balochi. One of Pakistan's oldest television dramas is the Urdu serial Khuda Ki Basti, which aired in 1969. Pakistani dramas, like serials elsewhere, reflect the country's culture. According to critics, the decades of 1970s and 1980s are considered to be the golden age of Pakistani serials.
