Rocksteady Studios Limited is a British video game developer based in Kentish Town, London. Founded on 13 December 2004, they are best known for their work in the Batman: Arkham series. The company is a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

Rocksteady's first release was the 2006 first-person shooter Urban Chaos: Riot Response , developed using the Havok engine and published by Eidos Interactive for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. After Eidos obtained the rights to make a Batman game in spring 2007, they approached Rocksteady who presented their take to the Batman license, and by May 2007, they had begun developing the concept of Batman: Arkham Asylum , with full production beginning in September 2007.The game was released in August 2009 to critical acclaim and huge commercial success and Time Warner went on to acquiring a 74.1 percent stake in February 2010, although Square Enix Europe (formerly Eidos Interactive) still held 25.1 percent share of Rocksteady.

Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill returned to voice Batman and The Joker again in the fourth main installment of the series, Batman: Arkham Knight. Other actors in the series to reprise their roles from the DCAU include Arleen Sorkin as Harley Quinn, as well as C.C.H. Pounder as Amanda Waller and Robert Costanzo as Harvey Bullock.

In the game's main storyline, Batman is incarcerated in Arkham City, a huge new super-prison enclosing the decaying urban slums of fictional Gotham City. He must uncover the secret behind the sinister scheme, "Protocol 10", orchestrated by the facility's warden, Hugo Strange. The game's leading characters are predominantly voiced by actors from the DC Animated Universe, with Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill reprising their roles as Batman and the Joker, respectively.
In December 2016, Sefton Hill confirmed through his official Reddit account that a new project is currently in development at Rocksteady Studios.

Batman: The Dark Knight was an action-stealth game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 developed by Pandemic Studios from September 2006 until its cancellation in October 2008. It would have been the first open world video game to feature the DC Comics superhero Batman and was based on Christopher Nolan's film The Dark Knight. In Batman: The Dark Knight, the player controlled Batman, who could freely explore Gotham City, drive vehicles, and perform missions. Pandemic was given access to the film's script and other materials, and the film's cast would have reprised their roles for the game.
