The role of the United States men's national soccer team coach was first established in 1916 with the appointment of Thomas Cahill. Thirty-seven men have occupied this position.

United States Soccer Federation Nonprofit organization

The United States Soccer Federation (USSF), commonly referred to as U.S. Soccer, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and the official governing body of the sport of soccer in the United States. Bruce Arena American soccer coach

Arena has had a long and distinguished coaching career and is considered to be one of the most successful coaches in North American soccer history, having won five College Cup titles and five MLS Cup titles. He was the United States national team head coach at the 1996 Summer Olympics, the 2002 FIFA World Cup and the 2006 FIFA World Cup, head coach of the New York Red Bulls, D.C. United, LA Galaxy, and the New England Revolution in Major League Soccer, and coached Virginia Cavaliers men's soccer to several college soccer championships. He is the U.S. soccer team's longest-serving head coach.

Richard "Richie" Williams is a retired American professional soccer player and coach.

Dave Sarachan is a former American soccer player and coach who currently manages the Puerto Rico national football team. Since then, he has coached at the collegiate, professional, and national team levels. The 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final was a football match which determined the winners of the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The match was held at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois, United States, on July 7, 2019, and was contested by Mexico and the United States.

Trinidad and Tobago v United States (2018 FIFA World Cup qualification) Football match

On October 10, 2017, Trinidad and Tobago played against the United States at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva in what was the final 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification match for both teams. Trinidad and Tobago won the match 2–1 which resulted in the United States missing their first World Cup since 1986, as well as Trinidad and Tobago's first win over the United States since 2008, and their third win against them in international football.
