The Urawa Red Diamonds, colloquially Urawa Reds, also known as Mitsubishi Urawa Football Club from April 1992 to January 1996, are a professional football club in the city of Saitama, part of the Greater Tokyo Area in Japan. The club plays in the J1 League, the top tier of football in the country. Its name comes from the former city of Urawa, now part of Saitama. It is one of the most successful clubs in the country, having won three AFC Champions League titles, and varied domestic titles, including a joint-record eight overall Emperor's Cup titles. It participated three times at the FIFA Club World Cup.
The J.League 1993 season was the inaugural season of the J.League Division 1. The league fixtures began on 15 May 1993, and ended on 15 December 1993. The first ever Suntory Championship took place in the following year, 9 January and 16 January 1994.
Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies, known for sponsorship reasons as Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Urawa Reds Ladies, is a professional women's football club playing in Japan's football league, WE League. Its hometown is the city of Saitama in Saitama Prefecture.
The 2011 Urawa Red Diamonds season was Urawa Red Diamonds' eleventh consecutive season in J. League Division 1, 18th season overall in the J. League, and 45th overall in the Japanese top flight. It also includes the Emperor's Cup, and the J. League Cup.

The 2012 Urawa Red Diamonds season is Urawa Red Diamonds' 12th consecutive season in J. League Division 1, and 46th overall in the Japanese top flight. Urawa Red Diamonds are also competing in the 2012 Emperor's Cup and 2012 J. League Cup.
The 2017 AFC Champions League Final was the final of the 2017 AFC Champions League, the 36th edition of the top-level Asian club football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and the 15th under the current AFC Champions League title.

The 2019 season was Urawa Red Diamonds's 19th consecutive season in J1 League, after finishing 5th in the 2018 J1 League. The club also competed in the Emperor's Cup, J.League Cup, Japanese Super Cup and AFC Champions League. They reached the final of the latter competition, losing to Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia by a 0–3 aggregate score.
The 2020 season is Urawa Red Diamonds's 20th consecutive season in J1 League, after finishing 14th in the 2019 J1 League. The club also will compete in the J.League Cup.
