In 2007, Jepsen placed third in Canadian Idol season five's competition. [1] Before signing with Interscope, in 2008 she independently released her debut album, Tug of War , which its eponymous lead single won the award for Song of the Year at the 2010 Canadian Radio Music Awards. Her second album, title Kiss (2012), won two awards at the 2013 Juno Awards, winning the Album of the Year. The first single, "Call Me Maybe", was nominated for two Grammy Awards and won several other accolades, including the Billboard Music Award, MuchMusic Video Award and MTV Europe Music Award. Jepsen's collaboration with Owl City, "Good Time", won two Billboard Japan Music Awards.

Hedley was a Canadian pop rock band that originated in Abbotsford, British Columbia, originally formed in 2003. They were named after the unincorporated community of Hedley, British Columbia, a name chosen after members heard that it was for sale for $346,000. After lead singer Jacob Hoggard placed third on the second season of Canadian Idol in 2004, the group signed with Universal Music Canada and released their self-titled debut studio album the following year. Hedley saw commercial success with their subsequent studio albums, including Famous Last Words (2007), The Show Must Go (2009), Storms (2011), Wild Life (2013), Hello (2015) and Cageless (2017).
Carly Rae Jepsen is a Canadian singer and songwriter. After studying musical theatre for most of her school life and while in university, Jepsen garnered mainstream attention after placing third on the fifth season of Canadian Idol in 2007. In 2008, Jepsen released her folk-influenced debut studio album Tug of War in Canada before it was internationally released in 2011.
"Invincible" is a song recorded by Canadian pop rock group Hedley for their fourth studio album, Storms (2011). Written by Hedley frontman Jacob Hoggard and Jason Van Poederooyen, and co-written and produced by Brian Howes, "Invincible" features guest vocals by Canadian hip hop artist P. Reign on the single version. The song was released to radio on August 22, 2011 and to digital retailers on August 23, 2011 through Universal Music Canada as the lead single from Storms. It was well received by critics and fans, peaking in the Top 10 of the Canadian Hot 100 and being nominated for Single of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2012.
Port Cities is a Canadian band based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Formed in 2015, Port Cities is composed of Dylan Guthro, Breagh MacKinnon, and Carleton Stone —each already a singer/songwriter with an established solo career. The band signed with turtlemusik/Warner Music in 2016 and released its debut album in 2017.

Jessica Reyez is a Colombian- Canadian singer-songwriter. Her 2017 EP, Kiddo, led to four nominations at the 2018 Juno Awards, winning Breakthrough Artist. Her follow up EP, Being Human in Public, was released in 2018. It won R&B/Soul Recording of the Year at the 2019 Juno Awards and was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2020 Grammy Awards. Reyez again won the R&B/Soul Recording of the Year, for "Feel it Too" with Tory Lanez and Tainy, at the 2020 Juno Awards, where she was also nominated for Artist of the Year. Reyez has written songs for Calvin Harris, Kehlani, Dua Lipa, and Normani, most notably penning the hit "One Kiss", and has collaborated with Eminem on multiple occasions. Her debut album, Before Love Came to Kill Us, was released on March 27, 2020, to widespread critical acclaim, and saw commercial success, entering at number thirteen on the US Billboard 200.
