Santa Rosa County is a county located in the northwestern portion of the U.S. state of Florida. As of 2020, the population is 184,313. The county seat is Milton, which lies in the geographic center of the county. Other major communities within Santa Rosa County are Navarre, Pace, and Gulf Breeze. Navarre is the most populated community with a population of approximately 45,000 residents.
State Road 30A (SR 30A) is a Florida Department of Transportation designation shared by four alternate routings of SR 30 in the Florida panhandle. Two segments have SR 30A signage; the other two do not as they are segments of U.S. Route 98 (US 98). Three of the four SR 30A segments are next to the shore of the Gulf of Mexico for most of their length.
State Road 87 is a 51.687-mile-long (83.182 km) north–south highway in the state of Florida that extends from U.S. Route 98 to the Alabama state line where it becomes State Route 41. All of SR 87 is contained within Santa Rosa County.
Interstate 10 (I-10) runs for 362 miles (583 km) in Florida as the easternmost section of an east–west Interstate Highway in the southern United States. It is also the eastern end of one of three coast-to-coast Interstates, along with I-80 and I-90. The highway runs east from the Alabama border, traveling through the Panhandle of Florida, serving the major cities of Pensacola, Tallahassee, Lake City, ending at Jacksonville, and carries the hidden Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) designation of State Road 8 (SR 8).
The Garcon Point Bridge is a 2-lane toll bridge in Santa Rosa County, in the Florida panhandle. The bridge generally runs north - south and connects U.S. Route 98 east of Gulf Breeze, Florida to Interstate 10 and U.S. Route 90 west of Milton, Florida. The road and bridge uses the TOLL 281 shield on signage from US 98 to I-10. North of I-10 the road is signed solely as State Road 281. Exit signs on I-10 display both the State Road 281 and TOLL 281 shields. The bridge crosses East Bay, a large section of Pensacola Bay and serves as an evacuation route during a hurricane watch.
State Road 4 is a 43.705-mile-long (70.336 km) two-lane state highway in Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa counties in the western corner of the Florida Panhandle. It is signed east–west, but the road is slightly diagonal. The road runs from Century near the Alabama state line at an intersection with U.S. Highway 29 (US 29), to the farming community of Milligan at an intersection with US 90.
State Road 399 is a state road in Santa Rosa County, Florida. Although it only extends 0.32 miles (0.51 km) from U.S. Route 98 (US 98) to the Bob Sikes Bridge, County Road 399 continues over the bridge, along Santa Rosa Island, and back to US 98 via the Navarre Bridge. Other segments of CR 399 also exist on the mainland.
State Road 281, known locally as Avalon Boulevard, is a north–south highway in Santa Rosa County, Florida. It runs from U.S. Highway 98 east of Gulf Breeze north to U.S. Highway 90 just west of Milton. The portion of the road south of Interstate 10 is signed "TOLL 281" to reflect the inclusion of the Garcon Point Bridge, which has a $3.75 per crossing toll.
State Road 83 is the state designation for U.S. Route 331 between US 98(SR 30) in Santa Rosa Beach and US 90(SR 10) in DeFuniak Springs. It also includes an independent route from DeFuniak Springs to the Florida-Alabama State Line. The entire route is in Walton County.
State Road 89 is a north–south highway in the state of Florida that extends from U.S. Route 90 to the Alabama state line where it becomes County Road 55. All of SR 89 is contained within Santa Rosa County, and most of the road is a two-lane undivided highway, except between Milton and Point Baker, where it is a four-lane divided highway.
