Like all local government heads in the Philippines, the mayor is elected via popular vote, and may not be elected for a fourth consecutive term. In case of death, resignation or incapacity, the vice mayor becomes the mayor.

The Official Gazette, which is printed by the National Printing Office (NPO), is the public journal and main publication of the government of the Philippines. Its website only uploads what has been published; it is managed by Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

Ramon "Ricky" Arellano Carandang is a Filipino journalist. He was a news correspondent and anchor for ABS-CBN and ANC until July 9, 2010, when he resigned to serve as Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office Secretary under the Presidential Communications Group during the Presidency of Benigno Aquino III. He is currently the Vice President and Head of the Integrated Corporate Communications of First Philippine Holdings Corporation, First Gen Corporation and Energy Development Corporation.

Teofisto "Tito" Tayko Guingona Jr. is a Filipino politician and diplomat who served as the 11th Vice President of the Philippines from 2001 to 2004, during the first term of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Born in San Juan, he is a graduate of Ateneo de Manila University, where he was a working student.
