Monash University is a public research university based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Named after World War I general Sir John Monash, it was founded in 1958 and is the second oldest university in the state. The university has a number of campuses, four of which are in Victoria, one in Malaysia and another one in Indonesia. Monash also has a research and teaching centre in Prato, Italy, a graduate research school in Mumbai, India and graduate schools in Suzhou, China and Tangerang, Indonesia. Courses are also delivered at other locations, including South Africa.

The University of the Republic is a public research university in Montevideo, Uruguay. It is the oldest and largest university in the country, as well as the second largest public university in South America and the world's 57th largest by enrollment, with a student body of 137,757 undergraduate students in 2018 and 6,351 postgraduate students in 2012. It was founded on 18 July 1849 in Montevideo, where most of its buildings and facilities are still located. Its current rector is Rodrigo Arim.

José Narro Robles is a Mexican physician, researcher, academic, and politician. He is a former director of the Faculty of Medicine of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and was elected its 23rd Rector on November 20, 2007. After two 4-year periods leading UNAM, in February 2016, he was appointed by Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto to replace Mercedes Juan as head of the Mexican Secretariat of Health.

El Clasico Capitalino, refers to football matches between América and UNAM, both from Mexico City. América play at the Estadio Azteca, while UNAM play at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario, with the two grounds separated by approximately 1.1 miles (1.8 km).

Higher education in the Philippines is offered through various degree programs by colleges and universities—also known as higher education institutions (HEIs). These HEIs are administered and regulated by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

Universidad Central de Chile, abbreviated as UCEN, is the first autonomous private university in Chile, founded in 1982 in Santiago de Chile. It's accredited in the areas of institutional management and undergraduate teaching by the National Accreditation Commission of Chile for a term of four years from December 2017 to December 2021.

The "Truly Strong Universities" is a ranking of Japan's top 100 universities by publisher Toyo Keizai released annually in its business magazine of the same name.

Weekly Toyo Keizai (Shūkan Tōyō Keizai is a weekly business and finance magazine published in Tokyo, Japan. Founded in 1895 it is one of the earliest business publications in the country.
