This is a list of albums that reached number-one on the ARIA Urban Albums Chart in 2001. The ARIA Urban Albums Chart is a weekly chart that ranks the best-performing urban albums in Australia. It is published by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), an organisation that collects music data for the weekly ARIA Charts. To be eligible to appear on the chart, the recording must be an album of a predominantly urban nature. [1]

My Reflection is a concert DVD by Christina Aguilera, released in 2001 by Image Entertainment. The concert early before being released on DVD was shown in a one-hour special on ABC in around Christmas time in 2000. The televised concert took in 10.5 million viewers. The DVD was certified gold by the RIAA and platinum in Australia.

The Idea of North A cappella vocal ensemble

The Idea of North are an Australian a cappella vocal ensemble founded in Canberra in 1993, by Nick Begbie (tenor), Meg Corson (alto), Trish Delaney-Brown (soprano) and Andrew Piper (bass). In March 2002 Corson was replaced as alto by Naomi Crellin. Delaney-Brown was replaced on soprano in February 2007 by Sally Cameron. They won the Best Jazz Album category at the ARIA Music Awards of 2010 for Feels Like Spring and again in 2013 for Smile.

It achieved gold record status within ten days, and platinum record status within three weeks. By the end of 2002, the album had gone double platinum.

On 7 September 2001, A Girl Like Me was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry for sales in excess of 100,000 copies, ultimately becoming the 147th best-selling album in the UK for 2001. The album brought the UK number-one "What Took You So Long?" as well as top-five hits "What I Am" and "Take My Breath Away" and the top 20 hit "We're Not Gonna Sleep Tonight". The album sold 125,000 copies in the UK.

Fijian-born Australian singer and songwriter Paulini has released four studio albums, one extended play, sixteen singles, and twelve music videos. Paulini placed fourth on the first season of Australian Idol in 2003, and subsequently signed a recording contract with Sony BMG Australia. Her debut studio album, One Determined Heart (2004), debuted at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart, where it remained for two consecutive weeks, and was certified platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) for shipments of 70,000 copies. Its lead single "Angel Eyes" remained at number one on the ARIA Singles Chart for three consecutive weeks and was also certified platinum, while the second single "We Can Try" peaked at number 30. Paulini followed with the release of her debut EP, Amazing Grace: Songs for Christmas (2004), which peaked at number 70.

In 1999, Smash Mouth released their second studio album, Astro Lounge. Crazy is a R&B love song by duo K-Ci & JoJo. It was released in 2001 and was their first single off the album X. It was also featured on the soundtrack to the hit dance film Save the Last Dance, starring Julia Stiles and Sean Patrick Thomas. The song is notable for making prominent use of auto-tune years before it became popular.
