The ARIA Singles Chart ranks the best-performing singles in Australia. Its data, published by the Australian Recording Industry Association, is based collectively on the weekly physical and digital sales and streams of singles. [1] In 2020, eleven songs reached number one, with "Dance Monkey" by Tones and I returning to the top on the first chart of the year after spending 21 weeks atop the chart in 2019. Nine artists, The Weeknd, Saint Jhn, DaBaby, Roddy Ricch, Jawsh 685, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, 24kGoldn and Iann Dior, reached the top for the first time.

"Roses" is a song by Guyanese-American rapper Saint Jhn, originally released on July 22, 2016 and later included on his 2018 album Collection One. Originally produced by Fallen, it was remixed by Kazakh producer Imanbek and released as a single on September 18, 2019. The remix of the song helped the song gain international recognition after it was featured on a Snapchat filter and on video-sharing app TikTok where it received over 4.5 billion plays in the month of April 2020. On May 27, 2020, a second remix produced by Quay Global and Fallen was released with American rapper Future. On July 20, 2020, a music video was released for the second remix, despite initially being cancelled to help bail funds for arrested protesters and aid black-owned businesses and the Black Lives Matter movement, all regarding the George Floyd protests that started during May 2020.

In 2021, Imanbek won a Grammy for his remix of "Roses", becoming the first Grammy recipient from Kazakhstan, and the first Grammy award winner in a non-classical category from within the CIS.

Joshua Christian Nanai, better known as Jawsh 685, is a New Zealand beat maker and music producer. While a student at Manurewa High School, in South Auckland, New Zealand, he made his breakthrough with the 2020 siren jam single "Savage Love " in collaboration with American R&B singer Jason Derulo. BTS made a remix to the song which reached number one in over 15 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

"Mood" is a song by American rapper 24kGoldn featuring fellow American rapper Iann Dior. It was released on July 24, 2020, through Records and Columbia Records, as the lead single from 24kGoldn's debut studio album, El Dorado (2021). The pop rap and rap rock song is built around a guitar riff inspired by indie rock and post grunge music and also features hi-hats and snare drums in the style of trap music. On the song, 24kGoldn and Dior sing-rap about their toxic relationships in which their lovers are always in a "mood".

El Dorado is the debut studio album by American rapper 24kGoldn. It was released on March 26, 2021, by Records, LLC and distributed by Columbia Records. It follows his debut extended play and project, Dropped Outta College, which was released in late 2019. The album features guest appearances from DaBaby, Future, Swae Lee, and Iann Dior. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA in the United States in July 2021 for selling 500,000 units in the country.

"A-O-K" is a song by American singer Tai Verdes. It was released on June 8, 2021, as the fifth single from his debut studio album TV via Arista Records. The song was written by Adam Friedman, Brian William Brundage, Martijn Tienus Konijnenburg and Tai Verdes, and produced by Friedman. A remix featuring guest vocals from fellow American rapper 24kGoldn was released on September 10, 2021. Additionally, an alternative version featuring latin artist Manuel Turizo was released on November 18, 2021.
