The ARIA Singles Chart ranks the best-performing singles in Australia. Its data, published by the Australian Recording Industry Association, is based collectively on the weekly physical and digital sales and streams of singles. [1] In 2021, 13 songs reached number one; the first, "Mood" by 24kGoldn featuring Iann Dior, returned to the top on the first chart of the year after spending nine weeks atop the chart in 2020. Eight artists, Olivia Rodrigo, Glass Animals, Daniel Caesar, Giveon, the Kid Laroi, Russ Millions, Tion Wayne and Dua Lipa reached the top for the first time.
Olivia Rodrigo and the Kid Laroi each achieved two number ones on the chart in 2021, while Justin Bieber spent the most weeks at number one of the year, with "Peaches" and the Kid Laroi duet "Stay" spending a combined total of 16 weeks atop the chart.

He first rose to fame with his 2019 single "Valentino", which became his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. It was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and prompted his signing of a recording contract from Barry Weiss' Records, an imprint of Columbia Records. His 2020 follow-up single, "Mood" earned further success as it peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 and served as the lead single for his debut studio album El Dorado (2021), which saw modest commercial performance.

The album was certified Platinum by the RIAA in the United States in January 2024 for selling 1,000,000 units in the country.

It was released through Grade A Productions and Columbia Records on 9 July 2021, as the lead single from Laroi's reloaded mixtape, F*ck Love 3: Over You. Laroi and Bieber wrote the song with Haan, FnZ members Finatik & Zac, and producers Cashmere Cat, Charlie Puth, Omer Fedi, and Blake Slatkin. The song marks the second collaboration between the two artists, following Bieber's song, "Unstable", a track from his sixth studio album, Justice (2021).
"A-O-K" is a song by American singer Tai Verdes. It was released on June 8, 2021, as the fifth single from his debut studio album TV via Arista Records. The song was written by Adam Friedman, Brian William Brundage, Martijn Tienus Konijnenburg and Tai Verdes, and produced by Friedman. A remix featuring guest vocals from fellow American rapper 24kGoldn was released on September 10, 2021. Additionally, an alternative version featuring latin artist Manuel Turizo was released on November 18, 2021.
