The following lists the top 25 singles of 2016 in Australia from the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) end-of-year singles chart. [1]

The Chainsmokers’ track "Closer", featuring Halsey, was the highest selling single in Australia in 2016 with a sales accreditation of seven times platinum. It spent nine weeks at number one.

Innocent Eyes is the debut studio album by Australian singer Delta Goodrem, released in Australia on 24 March 2003. It was later released in the United Kingdom on 30 June 2003. Goodrem co-wrote most of the material, excluding "Throw It Away", "Lost Without You" and "Butterfly". The album features two self-penned songs, "In My Own Time" and "Will You Fall for Me". Goodrem worked with writers and producers such as: Audius Mtawarira, Bridget Benenate, Cathy Dennis, Eliot Kennedy, Gary Barlow, Jarrad Rogers, Kara DioGuardi, Vince Pizzinga and others to create the album with a collection of piano-based pop and ballad tracks.

At the ARIA Music Awards of 2000 they won Single of the Year, Highest Selling Single and Breakthrough Artist - Single for "Don't Call Me Baby as well as Best Video for Mark Hartley's direction of "Who the Hell Are You".

The album entered the Australian ARIA Albums Chart at Number 1, on 25 August 1997, knocking Middle of Nowhere by Hanson off the top spot, making it Arena's second Number 1 album, to Don't Ask.

Born to Try

"Born to Try" is a song by Australian recording artist and songwriter Delta Goodrem, written by Audius Mtawarira and produced by Ric Wake for her debut studio album Innocent Eyes (2003). The song was released as the first single off the studio album on 11 November 2002 by Epic Records and Daylight Records. It was later featured on her first Japanese compilation album Innocent Eyes (2006). The song was co-written by her while she was staying at her home in Sydney, Australia for the production of the studio album, as well as written and producing four other songs together. Though many of the public consider this as Goodrem's breakthrough single, it is not her debut single.

Barricades & Brickwalls is the second studio album by Australian country music singer Kasey Chambers released in Australia on 3 September 2001 by Essence Records and on 12 February 2002 on Warner Bros. Records in the U.S. The album was mainly written by Chambers with help from Worm Werchon and her father Bill Chambers. Barricades & Brickwalls debuted in the top ten on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart, and sales were considerably high of those of Chambers first album, The Captain (1999). Its singles were successful in most music markets, "Not Pretty Enough", the most successful song from the album gave Chambers her first number-one single in Australia and reached #4 in New Zealand. Other singles includes "Runaway Train", "On a Bad Day", "Million Tears" and "If I Were You". The commercial success of the album led the album to eight nominations at the ARIA Awards.

"Innocent Eyes" is a pop song written by Delta Goodrem and Vince Pizzinga and produced by John Fields for Goodrem's first album Innocent Eyes (2003). It was released as the album's third single in Australia on 9 June 2003. Goodrem has stated the song is one of her favourite tracks on the Innocent Eyes album and that its lyrics are autobiographical, and is dedicated to her family. The song became her third number-one single in Australia and also peaked in the top twenty in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. She also performed the song on an episode of Australian soap opera Neighbours where she had a starring role as Nina Tucker.

Whos That Girl (Guy Sebastian song)

"Who's That Girl" is an up-tempo electro R&B song performed by Australian singer-songwriter Guy Sebastian which features American rapper Eve. It was written by Sebastian, with Eve writing and performing the rap. Sebastian co-produced the song with Andre Harris. Released as a digital download on 5 November 2010, it was the only single released in Australia from Sebastian's retrospective album Twenty Ten. "Who's That Girl" reached number one on the ARIA Singles Chart, Sebastian's fifth of six number one singles in Australia and Eve's first. It was also Sebastian's seventh of 12 top ten singles on the Australian charts. It reached 5× platinum certification in 2014.

The Fighter (Keith Urban song)

"The Fighter" is a song co-written and recorded by New Zealand-born Australian country music singer Keith Urban featuring Carrie Underwood as a duet. It was released on 6 February 2017 as the fifth and final single from Urban's 2016 album, Ripcord. Urban co-wrote and co-produced this song with busbee.
