The ARIA Albums Chart ranks the best-performing albums and extended plays (EPs) in Australia. Its data, published by the Australian Recording Industry Association, is based collectively on the weekly physical and digital sales of albums and EPs. [1] In 2016, 43 albums claimed the top spot, Adele's 25 , and Disturbed's Immortalized already peaked at number one in 2015, and 13 acts achieved their first number-one album in Australia: The 1975, Matt Corby, Violent Soho, Zayn, Lukas Graham, Deftones, Drake, The Avalanches, Frank Ocean, A Day to Remember, Sticky Fingers, Jessica Mauboy and Illy.

The Sapphires: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is a soundtrack album for the film The Sapphires (2012), released on 27 July 2012 by Sony Music Australia. It features the vocals of Jessica Mauboy, Jade MacRae, Lou Bennett, Juanita Tippens and Darren Percival, with Mauboy singing in ten of the sixteen songs. Produced by Bry Jones, the soundtrack contains songs from the 1960s, including: "Land of a Thousand Dances", "I Can't Help Myself ", "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" and "What a Man". The track "Ngarra Burra Ferra" is a song based on the traditional Aboriginal hymn "Bura Fera" in the Yorta Yorta language of Victoria, Australia, the language spoken by the indigenous Yorta Yorta people of the Goulburn Valley and Murray River valley centred on modern-day Echuca.

Mauboy worked on Beautiful with a variety of producers and songwriters, including DNA, The Fliptones, Brian Kennedy, Harvey Mason, Jr., Adam Reily and The Underdogs. She co-wrote ten of the thirteen songs on the album's standard edition. The album explored a mixture of dance-oriented tracks with R&B and pop.

"This Ain't Love" is a song recorded by Australian singer and songwriter Jessica Mauboy, originally for a fourth studio album, but was left off the track listing of Hilda (2019). It was released on 11 September 2015 as the intended first single from the album, However the album never materialized and left "This Ain't Love" as a standalone single. "This Ain't Love" was written by Mauboy, David Sneddon and Carl Ryden, who also handled the production. It is a drum and bass song, which contains elements of soul music. The song marks a new musical direction for Mauboy as it is a departure from her usual pop and R&B style. "This Ain't Love" received mostly positive reviews from music critics, who complimented Mauboy's vocals and the production, and believed that the song had potential to do well on international charts. They also noted that it was reminiscent of artists such as Rudimental, Disclosure and Ella Eyre.

Cyrus Villanueva, also known mononymously as Cyrus, is an Australian singer from Wollongong, New South Wales. He is best known for winning the seventh season of The X Factor Australia in 2015. His debut studio album Cyrus was released on 9 December 2015.
