In 1985, Houston released her self-titled debut album. The album would go on to spend fourteen weeks at number one on the Billboard 200, earned three number one singles in a row on the Billboard Hot 100 including "How Will I Know" and "Greatest Love of All" and ended the chart year of 1986 as the top album of the year, according to the chart, earning Houston a distinction as the first female artist in history to earn that honor.
