The Most Illustrious Order of the Royal House of Chakri was founded in 1882 by King Chulalongkorn of the Kingdom of Siam to commemorate the Bangkok Centennial. The order is awarded to members of the House of Chakri, foreign heads of state and members of other royal houses.
The Ancient and Auspicious Order of the Nine Gems was established in 1851 by King Mongkut of the Kingdom of Siam. The order is bestowed upon the members of the Thai royal family and distinguished high-ranking officials who have given service to the kingdom and who are active Buddhist laypeople. In practice, it is the highest Thai order granted to Thai citizens, as the two higher orders are reserved for royalty or foreign heads of state. The execution of Thai royalty was the process of executing Thai royalty by means of one sandalwood cudgel or more upon his or her neck or stomach. It was the ceremony most frequently performed in Thai history from the Ayutthaya period to the initial period of Rattanakosin. This kind of execution has not been performed since the reign of King Mongkut, and has officially been abolished by the first Criminal Code of Thailand promulgated in 1881 by King Chulalongkorn.
Tha Kham is a subdistrict municipality in Hot District in the south of Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. It covers the district centre and headquarters, and the town is also referred to as Hot.
Mae Sot is a city in western Thailand that shares a border with Myanmar to the west. It is notable as a trade hub and for its substantial population of Burmese migrants and refugees. The city is part of Tak Province, 87 km from the city of Tak and 492 km from Bangkok. It is home to the district headquarters of Mae Sot District, and is the main gateway between Thailand and Burma. The National Fonts are sets of freely-licensed computer fonts for the Thai script sponsored by the Thai government. The original National Fonts include three Thai typefaces released by NECTEC in 2001, while a follow-up program, more specifically known as the fourteen National Fonts, or colloquially SIPA fonts, include fourteen typefaces distributed and used by the Government of Thailand as public and official fonts after they won a national competition held in 2007. The fonts and all of their subsequently developed versions are released by the Software Industry Promotion Agency, or SIPA, together with the Department of Intellectual Property through f0nt.com, and can be downloaded freely on the website.
Mae Sai, is the district town of Mae Sai District in the far north of Chiang Rai Province, Thailand. Mae Sai is a major border crossing between Thailand and Myanmar; the town of Tachileik, in Shan State is across the bridge. Asian Highway Network AH2 crosses the Mae Sai River to the town of Tachileik in Myanmar. The town of Mae Sai and Tachileik are the bi-national conurbation shared between Thailand and Myanmar.
