Sha Tin District is one of the 18 districts of Hong Kong. As one of the 9 districts located in the New Territories, it covers the areas of Sha Tin, Tai Wai, Ma On Shan, Fo Tan, Siu Lek Yuen and Ma Liu Shui. The district is the most populous district in Hong Kong, with a population of 659,794 as per 2016 by-census, having a larger population than many countries or dependencies including Iceland, Malta, Montenegro and Brunei.
Ma On Shan Country Park is a park located in the central neck of the Sai Kung Peninsula in the eastern New Territories of Hong Kong. It was established on 27 April 1979, and contains some of Hong Kong's most dramatic scenery. The park covers an area of 28.8 square kilometres (11.1 sq mi) and links the Sai Kung Country Park and Lion Rock Country Park to form an extensive recreation area on the Ma On Shan massif.
Sha Tin Town Hall is a town hall at the town centre of the Sha Tin District in Hong Kong. It is located near Sha Tin station, Sha Tin Park and New Town Plaza. It is part of the podium complex which includes the Sha Tin Town Hall, Sha Tin Public Library and the Sha Tin Marriage Registry.

City One Shatin is a residential precinct in Sha Tin, New Territories, Hong Kong. The estate occupies approximately 1,800,000 square feet of land. The estate was named City One as it is on Lot 1, Shatin Town. It has a census area population of 24,758 people. City One is the largest private residential estate in Sha Tin District. There are a total of 52 blocks of residential buildings with 10,642 units. Each tower is about 30 storeys with units ranging from 389 square feet (36.1 m2) to an area of 1,018 square feet (94.6 m2), offering different floor plans.

Sha Tin Park, formerly known as Sha Tin Central Park, is a park at 2 Yuen Wo Road, Sha Tin, Hong Kong. It is situated along the Shing Mun River in the new town of Sha Tin, next to the New Town Plaza, Sha Tin Town Hall, and Sha Tin Public Library.
Ma On Shan is a new town along the eastern coast of Tolo Harbour in the New Territories of Hong Kong. Although it was initially an extension of Sha Tin New Town, it has its own town centre and various government facilities, and is now classified as a separate new town in government reports. Administratively, it belongs to Sha Tin District.
Ma On Shan Road is a major road in the new town of Ma On Shan in the New Territories of Hong Kong. The road extends northward from Tate's Cairn Highway near Tai Shui Hang along the eastern bank of the Shing Mun River. It ends in the north when it joins Sai Sha Road near Wu Kai Sha. Its branch road, the Ma On Shan Bypass, redirects traffic between Sha Tin and Sai Kung North away from the town centre near the Heng On Estate. It is the primary thoroughfare to Ma On Shan. A short section of the road north of Tate's Cairn Highway is an expressway.

Siu Lek Yuen is an area in Sha Tin District, New Territories East. Located to the east of Yuen Chau Kok, the area is surrounded on three sides by the Ma On Shan Country Park. Nowadays it is a residential area.
Fortune City One is one of the two shopping centres of City One, Sha Tin, New Territories, Hong Kong. It is owned by Cheung Kong Holdings. It is connected to nearly apartments and another shopping centre in City One, Fortune City One Plus, just across the street, by bridges.
Mountain Shore is a private housing estate in Tai Shui Hang, Ma On Shan, Sha Tin District, New Territories, Hong Kong. The estate is one of the Hong Kong Housing Society's Sandwich Class Housing Scheme projects converted into private developments.
