The single was serviced to United States contemporary hit radio on 18 July 2017. A remix version with American singer Beyoncé was released on 28 September 2017. J Balvin and Willy William released six more "Mi Gente" remixes on 20 October 2017 with Steve Aoki, Alesso, Cedric Gervais, Dillon Francis, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, and Henry Fong.

The song was written by the band, Juan Diego Medina, Julián Turizo, Manuel Turizo, and its producers Mosty and Eq the Equaliser. It became an instant success across Latin America, where it reached the top 10 in many countries and was certified gold in Colombia two weeks after its release.

"La Noche de Anoche" is a song recorded by Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny in collaboration with Spanish singer Rosalía from his third studio album El Último Tour Del Mundo (2020). The track was written by both performers alongside Tainy and Chris Jedi and produced by the latter two with Gaby Music. A fan favorite, it was released as the fourth and final single off the album on February 14, 2021, through Rimas Entertainment along with its music video.

A remix of the song featuring American singer Justin Quiles was released on 17 February 2022.

"Mamiii" is a song recorded by American singer Becky G and Colombian singer Karol G. It was released by Kemosabe Records, RCA Records and Sony Music Latin on February 11, 2022, as the third single from Gomez's second Spanish studio album Esquemas (2022). It was written by Gomez, Giraldo, Elena Rose and Daniel Echavarría Oviedo and produced by the latter. The cover art shot by photographer Alfredo Flores. It is Gomez and Giraldo's second collaboration, following "Mi Mala" (Remix) released in February 2018. The single reached number one on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs, peaked at number four on the Global 200, and peaked at number fifteen on the Billboard Hot 100.
