Mahli Beardman (born 31 August 2005) is an Australian cricketer,from the Southwest of WA,who plays for Western Australia and the Under 19 Australian Mens team. He is a right handed batsman and right arm medium fast bowler. He made his List A cricket debut on 4 November 2023 against New South Wales.
Born in Dunsborough and raised in Margaret River,WA,Mahli Beardman was first spotted as a 10 year old playing cricket in Cowaramup in the states Southwest before moving to Dampier in the North for a short 2 year stint which was where the WACA first noticed his talent. He then moved to Perth and attended Aquinas College and at age 15 Beardman came to be coached and mentored by Australia bowling great Dennis Lillee. [1] [2] In 2022,he was invited to train with the senior Australian cricket team as they prepared to play a test match against the West Indies in Perth. [3]
Beardman made his List-A cricket debut on 4 November 2023 for Western Australia against New South Wales. His first wicket was that of Moises Henriques,caught at mid-on after the ball had deflected from the non-striker’s helmet. [4]
In December 2022,he was called up to the Australia national under-19 cricket team. [5] He featured as Australia U19 won the 2024 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa. He was named player of the match in the final after taking 3-15 against India U19. [6] [7] [8]
