The Malta national amateur football team alternates with Gozo national football team in representing Malta in the UEFA Regions' Cup. It is controlled by the Malta Football Association. The Malta national amateur football team debuted in the 2001 and has since participated in the 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011 editions of the UEFA Regions' Cup. Moreover, following a hiatus of 11 years due to the combination of the participation by the Gozitan team and the COVID-19 pandemic, the Malta national amateur football team will be returning to the fore and will participate in the 2023 edition of the UEFA Regions' Cup. The Scottish Amateur Football Association (SAFA) is the organising body for amateur football across Scotland. An affiliate of the Scottish Football Association, the SAFA has in turn 50 regional associations affiliated to it and some 67 different league competitions organised by these associations. There is estimated to be over 35,000 amateur footballers in Scotland, and all of their competitions are co-ordinated at some level by the Scottish Amateur Football Association. The SAFA was formed in 1909 with the purpose of legislating for and fostering the amateur level of football in Scotland.
The Liechtenstein national football team is the national football team of the Principality of Liechtenstein and is controlled by the Liechtenstein Football Association. The organisation is known as the Liechtensteiner Fussballverband in German. The team's first match was an unofficial match against Malta in Seoul, a 1–1 draw in 1981. Their first official match came two years later, a 0–1 defeat from Switzerland. Liechtenstein's largest win, a 4–0 win over Luxembourg in a 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifier on 13 October 2004, was both its first ever away win and its first win in any FIFA World Cup qualifier. Conversely, Liechtenstein is the only country that lost an official match against San Marino, albeit in a friendly match. Liechtenstein suffered its biggest ever loss in 1996, during qualification for the 1998 FIFA World Cup, losing 1–11 to Macedonia, the result also being Macedonia's largest ever win to date. The team's head coach is currently Konrad Fünfstück.
Birkirkara Football Club is a professional football club based in the town of Birkirkara, on the island of Malta. The club was formed in 1950, following the amalgamation of Birkirkara United and Birkirkara Celtic. Birkirkara currently play in the Maltese Premier League, which it has won on four occasions, most recently in the 2012–13 season.

The Gibraltar men's national football team represents Gibraltar in international football competitions, and is controlled by the Gibraltar Football Association. Gibraltar applied for full Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) membership and was accepted by the UEFA Congress in May 2013. It can therefore compete in the UEFA European Championship starting with the 2016 tournament for which the team competed in UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying Group D. On 13 May 2016 Gibraltar became a member of FIFA at the governing body's 66th Congress which was held in Mexico City. Melita Football Club is a Maltese football club that represents the town of St. Julian's. Melita was recently promoted to the Maltese top flight for the first time ever, only to be relegated again the following season. Having finished first in Group C of the newly revamped National Amateur League in the 2020-21 season and gaining automatic promotion, the team has been playing in the Maltese Challenge League from the 2021-22 season. They also play in the annual Maltese FA Trophy.
Sirens Football Club is a professional football club from the north-western seaside village of San Pawl il-Baħar, in Malta. Founded in 1968, they currently compete in the Maltese Premier League.

The 2014 UEFA European Under-17 Championship was the 13th edition of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship, an annual football competition between men's under-17 national teams organised by UEFA. The final tournament was hosted for the first time in Malta, from 9 to 21 May 2014, after their bid was selected by the UEFA Executive Committee on 20 March 2012 in Istanbul, Turkey.
The Gozo representative football team represents the island of Gozo, Malta, in football. It is organised by the Gozo Football Association and its home stadium is the Gozo Stadium.
The 2018–19 Maltese Premier League was the 104th season of top-flight league football in Malta. The season began on 17 August 2018 and ended in April 2019. Defending champions Valletta won their 25th title, following a penalty shootout win against Hibernians in a championship decider match.
The Gibraltar women's national football team represents the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar in international women's football. Although the Gibraltar Football Association is a member of UEFA and FIFA, the association is yet to field a women's team in FIFA Women's World Cup or UEFA Women's Championship qualification. Instead, the team has largely been restricted to appearances at the biennial Island Games football tournaments, first appearing in the 2011 edition.
