Robert Merton Solow,GCIH is an American economist whose work on the theory of economic growth culminated in the exogenous growth model named after him. He is currently Emeritus Institute Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology,where he has been a professor since 1949. He was awarded the John Bates Clark Medal in 1961,the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 1987,and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2014. Four of his PhD students,George Akerlof,Joseph Stiglitz,Peter Diamond and William Nordhaus later received Nobel Memorial Prizes in Economic Sciences in their own right.

He has served as assistant for international economic affairs to Henry Kissinger within the National Security Council and as assistant secretary for international affairs at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He was the founding director of the Peterson Institute for International Economics,until 2006 the Institute for International Economics,which he established in 1981 and led through 2012. In addition to his academic work,he has been an influential public commentator and advisor to the American and global economic policy community,writing for influential periodicals such as Foreign Affairs magazine and by writing numerous books.

He is also a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics,and a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.

William Poole was the eleventh chief executive of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. He took office on March 23,1998 and began serving his full term on March 1,2001. In 2007,he served as a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee,bringing his District's perspective to policy discussions in Washington. Poole stepped down from the Fed on March 31,2008.

On June 10,2013,Furman was named by President Barack Obama as chair of the Council of Economic Advisers (CEA). The Summer Palace Dialogue (SPD) is an economic forum which brings together economists from both China and the United States to discuss economic cooperation between the two largest economies in the world. SPD is co-hosted by Chinese Economists 50 Forum and the Columbia Global Centers East Asia,and was formerly co-hosted by the Brookings Institution. It was founded in 2009 by former Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and current Chairman of AEA Investors Admiral Bill Owens and Vice Minister Liu He of the Chinese Central Leading Group on Financial and Economic Affairs. The forum extends for two days. Participants spend the first day in private discussions and then convene a half-day public session to summarize their observations,analyses,and conclusions with the press and a broader audience. The Summer Palace Dialogue is scheduled annually in mid-September in Beijing,right before the Summer World Economic Forum in Dalian. The third annual Summer Palace Dialogue was held on September 12–13,2011.
Arvind Subramanian is an Indian economist and the former Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India,having served from 16 October 2014 to 20 June 2018. Subramanian is currently a Senior Fellow at the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University. He previously served as Professor of Economics at Ashoka University and a Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and Center for Global Development.
The Global Investment in American Jobs Act of 2013 is a bill that would require the United States Department of Commerce,in cooperation with the Federal Interagency Investment Working Group and other federal agencies,to "conduct a review of the global competitiveness of the United States in attracting foreign direct investment." The bill specifies what topics and subject matters are to be included in the report,and which laws or policies are not to be included. Finally,the bill also expressed the "sense of Congress" –non-binding statement of opinion - about the current situation of foreign direct investment in the United States and some related American goals. The bill was introduced into the United States House of Representatives during the 113th United States Congress.
Erik Berglöf is a Swedish economist,currently the Chief Economist of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB),the Beijing-based multilateral development bank established in 2016 with a mission to improve social and economic outcomes in Asia. In March 2019 Erik Berglöf was appointed to the European Council's High Level Group of Wise Persons on the European financial architecture for development where Berglöf and eight other economists will suggest changes to the EU's development finance structure. In 2017–2018 Erik Berglöf served on the secretariat of the G20 Eminent Persons Group on Global Financial Governance and on the Governing Board of the Institute for New Economic Thinking in New York.
Sidney Lewis Jones is an American economist and former official in the United States federal government. Educated at Utah State University and Stanford University,he initially taught in universities until he was recruited to join the staff of the Council of Economic Advisers. From there he held a number of positions in and out of government,including senior roles in the Departments of Commerce and the Treasury. A Republican,he has held strong views during his career about controlling inflation and federal government spending but was nonetheless well regarded as an economist across the political spectrum.
Karen Dynan is an American economist who is Professor of the Practice of Economics at Harvard University and a Non-resident Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. She previously served as the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy and Chief Economist of the United States Department of the Treasury,having been nominated to that position by President Barack Obama in August 2013 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in June 2014. From 2009 to 2013,Dr. Dynan was the Vice President and Co-director of the Economic Studies program at the Brookings Institution. Prior to joining Brookings,she served on the staff of the Federal Reserve Board for 17 years. Dr. Dynan is an expert on macroeconomic policy,consumer behavior,household finance,and housing policy.
Sandra Eilene Black is a Professor of Economics and International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. She received her B.A. from UC Berkeley and her Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University. Since that time,she worked as an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York,and as an assistant,associate,and ultimately full professor in the Department of Economics at UCLA before arriving at the University of Texas at Austin in 2010. She is currently a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER),a research affiliate at IZA Institute of Labor Economics,and a nonresident senior fellow at Brookings Institution. She served as a Member of Barack Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers from August 2015 to January 2017.
