The NOVO7 is a series of Android tablet computers manufactured by the Chinese company Ainol Electronics. [1] The "7" represents the size of the tablet's screen (7 inches); Ainol's other products include the Novo 5 and Novo 8.
The first tablets in the Novo 7 line were the Novo 7 Basic and Novo 7 Advanced, released in early 2011. Unlike most competing tablets, the Novo 7 Basic used a MIPS-based CPU (1 GHz Ingenic JZ4770 XBurst), while the Advanced had a more common ARM CPU. Both had 800x480-pixel touchscreens and were launched with Android 2.2; although the company later released updates to Android 3 and Android 4.
The company released the Novo 7 Paladin in late 2011, which became the world's first Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) tablet. Its specifications were similar to the Novo 7 Basic, featuring a 7-inch touchscreen, a 1 GHz MIPS processor, 512 MB of RAM, 8 to 16 GB of internal flash storage, an external microSDHC slot, a mini USB port, and Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n). Two more tablets, the Aurora and the Elf, were added to the selection soon afterward, both using ARM CPUs.
Ainol's latest Novo 7 tablets are the Tornado, Mars, Elf II, and Aurora II. These all feature ARM processors, 8GB of internal storage—except for the Elf II, which also has a 16 GB model, and the Aurora II, which comes only in a 16 GB model—and 7-inch screens. The main difference between the models is the CPU speed and screen resolution. The Tornado has a 1 GHz single-core processor and an 800x480 screen, the Mars has the same processor but a 1024x600 pixel screen, and the Elf II/Aurora II has a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor (currently limited to 1.32 GHz) with a 1024x600 screen.
All Novo 7 models are budget tablets with lower specifications than others released at the same time, and thus are priced at a more affordable price. They all support Wi-Fi, but none have built-in 3G support.
In August 2012, Ainol released a new flagship tablet, the Novo 7 Fire / Flame. The Novo 7 Fire / Flame includes a high-resolution 1280×800 IPS display with a 5-point capacitive multi-touchscreen, along with full HD 1080p support. It has 16 GB of memory and 1 GB of RAM, runs on the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, offers official access to Google Play, and features a 1.5 GHz AMLogic ARM 2nd generation Cortex-A9 based dual-core CPU. In terms of external interfaces, it contains a micro SD storage card slot, an HDMI port, a micro-USB port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth wireless connection, and 3G access through an external dongle USB device. It has two cameras: a 5 MP rear-facing camera with AF and auto flash, and a 2 MP front-facing webcam. It also supports hardware-accelerated Flash (access to Flash-based video), features a 3-axis gravity sensor, and contains a 5000 mAh battery.
In September 2012, Ainol announced the release of the Novo 7 Crystal with the latest Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. The tablet was released for shipment on 28 September. The Novo 7 Crystal surpasses the specifications of the Novo 7 Elf II and looks to replace its predecessor. It has a special 7-inch MVA screen with 1024×600 pixel resolution and a wide 170° viewing angle.
On 28 March 2012, Ainol released updates to Android 4.0.3 v1.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) for the NOVO7 series. It fixes most of the bugs for [v4.0.3 v0.9] firmware that was released on 7 March 2012. [3]
Some users are attempting to hack and create scripts to enhance the compatibility of the NOVO7 tablets.
At least two ports of CyanogenMod 9 (Android 4.0.4) have been made. [4] [5]

Archos is a French multinational electronics company that was established in 1988 by Henri Crohas. Archos manufactures tablets, smartphones, portable media players and portable data storage devices. The name is an anagram of Crohas' last name. Also, in Greek (-αρχος), it's a suffix used in nouns indicating a person with power. The company's slogan has been updated from "Think Smaller" to "On The Go", and the current "Entertainment your way".
An ultra-mobile PC, or ultra-mobile personal computer (UMPC), is a miniature version of a pen computer, a class of laptop whose specifications were launched by Microsoft and Intel in Spring 2006. Sony had already made a first attempt in this direction in 2004 with its Vaio U series, which was only sold in Asia. UMPCs are generally smaller than subnotebooks, have a TFT display measuring (diagonally) about 12.7 to 17.8 centimetres, are operated like tablet PCs using a touchscreen or a stylus, and can also have a physical keyboard. There is no clear boundary between subnotebooks and ultra-mobile PCs, but UMPCs commonly have major features not found in the common clamshell laptop design, such as small keys on either side of the screen, or a slide-out keyboard.
Ingenic Semiconductor is a Chinese fabless semiconductor company based in Beijing, China founded in 2005. They purchased licenses for the MIPS architecture instruction sets in 2009 and design CPU-microarchitectures based on them. They also design system on a chip products including their CPUs and licensed semiconductor intellectual property blocks from third parties, such as Vivante Corporation, commission the fabrication of integrated circuits at semiconductor fabrication plants and sell them.
The Archos Generation 6 (Gen6) product series is represented by misc "Internet Media Tablets" or "IMT", e.g. the Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet This series of tablet computers developed by the French company Archos that features a resistive touchscreen for video, photo, audio, internet browsing and other multimedia applications. The individual numbering of the distinct models seems up to now to roughly resemble the length of the display diagonal in inches.
Google Nexus is a discontinued line of consumer electronic mobile devices that ran a stock version of the Android operating system. Google managed the design, development, marketing, and support of these devices, but some development and all manufacturing were carried out by partnering with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Alongside the main smartphone products, the line also included tablet computers and streaming media players; the Nexus started out in January 2010 and reached its end in October 2016, replaced by Google Pixel family.

The Motorola Defy (A8210/MB525) is an Android-based smartphone from Motorola. It filled a niche market segment, by being one of the few small, IP67 rated smartphones available at the time of its late 2010 release; it is water resistant, dust resistant, and has an impact-resistant screen. An updated version of the original model, Defy+ (MB526) was released in 2011. Other variants were also released before a revival of the Defy name in 2021.
The Nook Color is a tablet computer/e-reader that was marketed by Barnes & Noble. A 7-inch (18 cm) tablet with multitouch touchscreen input, it is the first device in the Nook line to feature a full-color screen. The device is designed for viewing of books, newspapers, magazines, and children's picture books. A limited number of the children's books available for the Nook Color include interactive animations and the option to have a professional voice actor read the story. It was announced on 26 October 2010 and shipped on 16 November 2010. Nook Color became available at the introductory price of US$249. In December 2011, with the release of the Nook Tablet, it lowered to US$169. On 12 August 2012, the price lowered to US$149. On 4 November 2012, the price was further lowered to US$139. The tablet ran on Android.
The Advent Vega is an Android-based compact tablet computer produced by Dixons Retail plc. It features a 10.1-inch (260 mm) LCD touchscreen, Wi-Fi capability, a 1.0 GHz Dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore processor, and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera. The Advent Vega was released on 19 November 2010 in the UK.

The IdeaPad tablets from Lenovo were a brand of consumer-oriented tablet computers designed for home use or entertainment, as opposed to the business-focused ThinkPad Tablet series. Devices sold in certain countries, such as China, India and New Zealand, were sold under the LePad brand, similar to the LePhone series of smartphones. IdeaPad-branded tablets have been produced with the Android and Windows operating systems.

The Xiaomi Redmi 1 is a smartphone released in July 2013 in China And August 2013 in Global, developed by the Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi Inc. It is the first product of the Redmi series of smartphones. It came with a 4.7-inch 720x1080 IPS screen, a MediaTek MT6589T Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A7 processor and originally run Android 4.2.2 Jellybean with the MIUI v5 user interface, upgradeable to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat with the MIUI 9 user interface.
The Samsung Wave 3 S8600 is a smartphone running the Bada 2.0 operating system designed by Samsung, which was commercially released in August 2011. The Wave is a slim touchscreen phone powered by "Scorpion" CPU, which includes 1.4 GHz ARM Cortex-8 CPU and a powerful graphics engine, "Super LCD" screen and 720p high-definition video capture capabilities. Shortage of Super AMOLED screens was one of the primary reasons for the release of this model.
