Nandan Hanmant Phadnis (born 18 August 1964 in Pune) is an Indian cricketer who played first class from 1986 to 1992 and List A cricket from 1986 to 1996 at the Ranji Trophy and the Wills Trophy for the Maharashtra cricket team as a wicket-keeper and batsman. [1] [2] Since 1998, he has served as an umpire for List A and Twenty20 cricket. [3] [4]

A cricket coach with the National Cricket Academy, [5] he was appointed coach for the cricket teams under the jurisdiction of the Goa Cricket Association in 2016, [6] [7] having previously coached Unmukt Chand in batting. [8] In 2023, he was appointed the consulting coach for the Nepal national cricket team. [9] In 2021, he unsuccessfully contested to be appointed the head coach for the Mumbai cricket team with the Mumbai Cricket Association, losing the position to Amol Muzumdar. [10] [11]

A graduate of the University of Pune in 1984, [12] he previously worked for Air India, representing the airline in corporate cricketing leagues in India and Hong Kong. [13] [14] He has also worked as a cricket commentator on All India Radio and NDTV. [15] [16] In 2022, he translated the festschrift of Dnyaneshwar Agashe, [17] and the biography of Chandrashekhar Agashe from Marathi into English. [18]

In October 2023, BCCI appointed Amol as the head coach of the India women's national cricket team.

MVM's Panditrao Agashe School or Panditrao Agashe School, is a private, co-educational day school located at Law College Road in Pune, India. The institution is a part of the Maharashtra Vidhya Mandal. Maharashtra Vidhya Mandal was founded in 1957. He was one of the first Maharashtrian in Pune to start an English Medium School. He is also renowned for his English into Marathi and Marathi into English dictionaries. The school caters to pupils from kindergarten up to class 10 and the medium of instruction is the English language. The school is affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune which conducts the SSC Examinations at the close of class 10. The 2016–17 Ranji Trophy was the 83rd season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament in India. Unlike previous seasons, the 2016–17 tournament was played at neutral venues. Captains and coaches were supportive of the change. Chhattisgarh cricket team made their debut in the competition, becoming the 28th team to compete in this edition of the Ranji Trophy. Mumbai were the defending champions. Gujarat beat Mumbai in the final by 5 wickets to win their first title.

Dnyaneshwar Chandrashekhar Agashe was an Indian businessman, cricketer, cricket administrator and philanthropist. He is best remembered for founding the Suvarna Sahakari Bank in 1969, and the scandal following the bank's alleged scam case in 2008. He played first-class cricket for Maharashtra between 1962 and 1968, and served as managing director of the Brihan Maharashtra Sugar Syndicate from 1986 to 1996. He was twice elected vice president of Board of Control for Cricket in India, serving his second and final term from 1995 to 1999.

Chandrashekhar Govind Agashe was an Indian industrialist and lawyer, best remembered as the founder of the Brihan Maharashtra Sugar Syndicate Ltd. He served as the managing agent of the company from its inception in 1934 till his death in 1956. He served as the President of the Bhor State Council from 1934 to 1948, having previously been the council's Vice President from 1933 to 1934, its Secretary from 1932 to 1933, and the Chief Justiciar of the Indian princely state itself from 1920 to 1932.
