National Department for Culture and Arts (Malay : Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Negara, JKKN) is one of the agencies under Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia and it is responsible in implementing cultural and arts activities in Malaysia.

18 Mac 2008 JKKN as one of the agencies under the Ministry of Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage (KPKKW)

April 2009 JKKN under the patronage of the Ministry of Information, Communication and Culture (KPKK).

16 May 2013,Since then, JKKN becomes an agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture.

On 2 July 2018, this Ministry was renamed as the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia as announced by YAB Prime Minister during the Cabinet Formation after the 14th General Election.

Vision

Cultural Art lead body in supporting Arts for Arts, Arts for Unity, and Cultural Arts in Revenue Generation for industry players towards the formation of national identity and prosperity.

Mission

1) Strengthening efforts to preserve, maintain, expand and popularize the National cultural arts heritage;

2) Potentiating cultural arts elements to enhance the National Identity, prosperity and unity;

3) Encouraging innovative cultural arts to increase industry player's income;

4) Contributing to the growth of cultural tourism activities.

Efforts

In February 2013, the National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN) and National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (Aswara) have been instructed to set up a school of etiquette to imbue noble values and build good character in members of society. [1]

Also on February, JKKN's Director General, Dato' Norliza Rofli announced grants under the National Creative Industry Policy worth RM 4 million are up for grabs for the development of the arts scene. [2]

On May 11, 2013, during Karnival Seni Kreatif Kita, Norliza announced that in 2008, the creative industry contributed to 1.27 per cent of the gross national income, which was equivalent to RM 9.4 billion, and the carnival was one of the Entry Point Projects in the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) under the National Key Economic Areas (NKEAs) for Communications Content and Infrastructure. The Cabinet of Malaysia is the executive branch of the Government of Malaysia. Led by the Prime Minister, the cabinet is a council of ministers who are accountable collectively to the Parliament. According to the Article 43 of the Federal Constitution, members of the Cabinet can only be selected from members of either houses of Parliament. Formally, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong appoints all Ministers on the advice of the Prime Minister. The constitution is amended by repealing the Clause (8) of Article 43, enabling a person who is a member of State Legislative Assembly to continue to serve even while serving as a minister or deputy minister in the cabinet. Ministers other than the Prime Minister shall hold office during the pleasure of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, unless the appointment of any Minister shall have been revoked by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the advice of the Prime Minister but any Minister may resign from office. In practice, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is obliged to follow the advice of the Prime Minister on the appointment and dismissal of ministers.

The Victoria Institution is the oldest secondary school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is a memorial school, so-called because it was partly funded by public subscription intended for the erection of a permanent memorial to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887. The establishment of the school was further supported by financial contributions from the Sultan and government of Selangor, prominent Kuala Lumpur residents, and the general public.

Joseph Victor Gonzales is a Malaysian choreographer, who is professionally known as Joseph Gonzales. Currently, he is a recognized expert in the choreography and interpretation of traditional dances in Malaysia, prominent in the theater and in the field of dance pedagogy. He is widely regarded as one of the leading voices in Asia and specifically Southeast Asia. In 2011, he established the ASK Dance Company, a private, professional dance company in Malaysia with the aspiration to provide a space for greater professionalism in dance. Shafirul Azmi bin Suhaimi Jawi شافيرول عزمي سوهايمي is a Malaysian citizen born in Sabah. He is one of the famous contemporary dance choreographers in the country. The basis of his dance moves was greatly influenced by the martial arts called Silat, a gesture of Sabah and Sarawak traditions that made his choreography very unique and interesting. In addition, he has often adopted site-specific, post-modern ideologies in his work.

The Anwar Ibrahim cabinet is the current federal cabinet of Malaysia, formed on 3 December 2022, nine days after Anwar Ibrahim took office as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia. The composition of the cabinet was announced by Anwar a day earlier on 2 December 2022, consisting of most of the political coalitions and parties represented in the 15th Parliament.
