History
Malaysian Defense Intelligence Organisation (MDIO), formerly known as Defense Intelligence Staff Division (DISD), was established on 1 October 1981 to replace the Joint Intelligence Directorate (JID). Its main objective was to gather and produce intelligence products to counter the Communist Party of Malaya (CPM) during the Second Malayan Emergency.
The Director General of MDIO is responsible for reporting to the Chief of Armed Forces, the Minister of Defence, and the National Security Division. [1] Currently, Lt. Gen. Datuk Ahmad Norihan bin Jalal holds the position. [2] As of the latest update (7th December 2023), Lieutenant-General Datuk Ahmad Norihan Jalal is retiring and his position has been handed over to his deputy and successor Lieutenant-General Dato’ Mohd Razali Alias. [3] Congratulations are also extended to Lieutenant-General Dato’ Mohd Razali Alias on his appointment as the 18th Director-General of Malaysian Defence Intelligence Organisation (MDIO).
On 23 September 2022, Chief of Defence Forces General Affendi Buang officially changed the name and logo of the Armed Forces Defence Intelligence Staff Division (DISD) to the Malaysian Defence Intelligence Organisation. [4]

Royal Military College is an all-boys military school established to train young Malaysians for service in the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF). It is sometimes dubbed "the Malaya's Sandhurst". On 9 December 1966, in a ceremony held at the college, HM Ismail Nasiruddin of Terengganu, the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, conferred the "Royal" title to the FMC. This was a great honour for the college as RMC the only educational institution in the history of this nation has the "Royal" title bestowed upon it. Hence since 1966, the former Federation Military College came to be known as the Royal Military College.

Zaini bin Mohd Said is a retired Malaysian Army general officer. His last rank was lieutenant general and his last position was as the Malaysian Army's field commander. Zaini is well known for his role in the surrender of Mohamed Amin Mohamed Razali, the leader of the Al-Mau'nah group that staged the arms heist at Battalion 304 Rejimen Askar Wataniah and the subsequent siege of the group at Bukit Jenalik, Sauk in Perak. Zaini was awarded the Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa (SP), Malaysia's highest gallantry award, for his role during the Al Mau'nah siege.

Elyas bin Omar was the third Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, as well as the longest serving as Mayor in History of Kuala Lumpur. He served for a period of 12 years. Elyas was the president of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) and during his tenure, Malaysia won the Thomas Cup in 1992. In football, Elyas was president of Kuala Lumpur FA when it won the Malaysia Cup three times in a row from 1987 to 1989. On 17 November 1992, he was succeeded by Mazlan Ahmad as Mayor of Kuala Lumpur.

In May 2011, Amin along with Hamadoun Toure was successful in the appointment of IMPACT as UN's cybersecurity executing arm by UN specialised agency – International Telecommunication Union (ITU). As Chairman of IMPACT, he guides the organisation and its stakeholders to enhance the global community's capacity to prevent, defend against and respond to cyber threats.
