Oumar Daou (born 13 May 1955) is a Malian diplomat and political expert.
In 2017 appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mali to Rwanda (August 2017). [1]
From 2015 to 2017, Daou occupied the post of Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Mali. [2]
In 2008, he was appointed Permanent Representative of Mali to the United Nations. [3] He served as President of the UNICEF Executive Board at the international level in 2009. [4] [5]
From 2004 to 2008, Daou was the Director of Political Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. [6] Before that, he was deputy director of Political Affairs in the Ministry from 2003 to 2004 and Head of the International Organizations Department from 2001 to 2003. [7]
Daou was born in Bamako, Mali in 1955. He is the son of Amadou Daou, former Mayor of Bamako's Municipality V and Director of Malian Post and Fanta Daou, former nurse at the Point G Hospital in Bamako. He attended the Lycee de Banankoro in Segou, continuing his education at the University of Beijing where he earned his degree in philosophy and modern history. In 1986, he received diplomatic training, including from the Cairo Institute of Diplomatic Studies in 1990 and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in 1986. In addition, he was a 1987 recipient of a United Nations Disarmament Scholarship. Mr. Daou was honoured with the award of Friendship Citizen of Nagasaki, Japan, in 1987 and the Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Mali in 2006. [8]
The Palais de la culture Amadou Hampaté Ba is the national performing arts centre for Mali, located in the capitol Bamako. Founded in 1976, the PCAHB is a public establishment, supported by the state for the preservation of traditional means of artistic expression. It is directed by the Direction Nationale des Arts et de la Culture of Mali, an arm of the Ministry of Culture, and is home to a number of Malian national institutions, including the Mali Centre of the International Theatre Institute, the National Theatre, the National Orchestra, the National Ballet Company, and the National Institute of the Arts. The current Palace of Culture was constructed in 1996. It is named for the famed Malian novelist and national hero Amadou Hampaté Ba. Its current director is Madame Haïdara Aminata Sy, named March 2008.
Sanoussi Touré is a Malian political figure and finance inspector who was appointed to the government of Mali as Minister of the Economy and Finance in April 2009.
Presidential elections were held in Mali on 28 July 2013, with a second round run-off held on 11 August. Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta defeated Soumaïla Cissé in the run-off to become the new President of Mali.
Django Sissoko was a Malian civil servant who was Prime Minister of Mali from December 2012 to September 2013. He was Minister of Justice from 1984 to 1988 and subsequently served twice as Secretary-General of the Presidency, from 1988 to 1991 and from 2008 to 2011. He also served as Ombudsman from 2011 to 2012.

Assetou Foune Samake Migan is a Malian politician currently serving as the Malian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. She taught plant physiology at the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Bamako from 1993 to 2000 before working with Winrock International from 2000 to 2004, the Polycentric Social Forum in Bamako from 2005 to 2006, the African Institute of Food and Sustainable Development from 2005 to 2009, the Unitarian Services of Canada from 2011 to 2013, the Forum for Another Mali, and the Ministry of National Reconciliation and Northern Development in 2013. She served as a technical advisor at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research before her appointment to Minister in 2016.
Mamadou Ismaïla Konate is a Malian lawyer. He started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers before creating his own firm in Bamako, Jurifis Consult, in 1998. On 7 July 2016 he was appointed Malian Secretary of State for Justice and took leave from the Paris and Bamako Bars and from his firm. He left office on 27 November 2017.
