Overdose is the third extended play by South Korean-Chinese boy bands Exo-K and Exo-M. It was released by SM Entertainment and distributed by KT Music on 7 May 2014 in Korean and Chinese versions. It is preceded by their special EP album "Miracles in December" that was released in December 2013. This is the final release to include members Kris and Luhan before they left the group and filed lawsuits against SM Entertainment requesting contract termination. It is also the final album released by Exo-K and Exo-M.

Background and release

Exo-K and Exo-M's third EP was intended to be released on 21 April 2014, but its release was postponed due to the Sewol Ferry Disaster on 16 April. Its music videos were released on 6 May 2014 on YouTube, then followed by its album on 7 May 2014. [1] It reached 660,000+ preorders before its release, making it the most pre-ordered mini-album in history. [2]

On 15 May 2014, Exo-M's leader Kris filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment to terminate his contract citing his neglected health and the company's violation of human rights. [3]

The Korean edition also peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's World Albums Chart, and No. 129 on the "Billboard 200", making Exo the highest charting Korean male group act on the Billboard 200 at the time. [4] [5]

Promotions

Prior to EP release, Exo kickstarted their promotions with a showcase at the Jamsil Arena in Seoul on 15 April 2014. [6] From 1 to 9 April, a contest sponsored by Samsung enabled fans to enter and win tickets to attend the showcase. [6] They promoted into their respective subgroups; Exo-K promoted in South Korea while Exo-M promoted in China. On 24 and 25 May, they held their first solo concert entitled Exo from Exoplanet 1 – The Lost Planet. [7] According to several news reports, tickets were reportedly sold out in seconds. [8]

Kim Jong-dae, better known by his stage name, Chen (Korean: 첸), is a South Korean singer and songwriter. He is predominantly known for his role as the vocalist of Exo. Exo from Exoplanet #1 – The Lost Planet was the first solo concert tour of Chinese-South Korean boy band Exo. The tour was officially announced on April 7, 2014, with tickets going on sale on April 16, 2014. The Lost Planet tour began in Seoul's Olympic Gymnastics Arena on May 23, 2014.

"Call Me Baby" is a song recorded by South Korean–Chinese boy band Exo, as the lead single of their second studio album Exodus. It was released on March 27, 2015, through SM Entertainment, in both Korean and Chinese.

<i>The War</i> (album) 2017 studio album by Exo

The War is the fourth studio album by South Korean boy band Exo. It was released on July 18, 2017, by SM Entertainment under Genie Music's distribution. The album includes a total of nine tracks including the lead single "Ko Ko Bop". The War received the highest number of pre-orders at the time for a K-pop album, with more than 800,000 physical copies. 24 days after being released, it became Exo's first album to have sold over 1 million copies with a single release. The War became Exo's fifth consecutive album win Album of the Year and the MAMA Awards.

Don't Mess Up My Tempo is the fifth studio album by South Korean boy band Exo. It was released on November 2, 2018, by SM Entertainment. Member Lay is featured in the Chinese version of lead track, "Tempo", marking his first appearance with the group since Winter EP, For Life (2016). It is available in four versions: Allegro, Moderato, Andante and Vivace, named after types of tempo. The album debuted at number one on the Gaon Album Chart. The album was repackaged as Love Shot on December 13, 2018.

"Love Shot" is a song by South Korean–Chinese boy band Exo, released on December 13, 2018, for the album Love Shot, a repackage of the group's fifth studio album Don't Mess Up My Tempo (2018). The music video was released on the same date.

<i>Self-Portrait</i> (EP) 2020 EP by Suho

Self-Portrait is the debut extended play by South Korean singer-songwriter Suho. It was released on March 30, 2020, by SM Entertainment. The physical edition was released in two versions, Archive #1 and Archive #2, while the digital version shares the cover of the latter, a collage of four impressionist paintings of Suho's face. The EP features six tracks including the lead single, "Let's Love".
