Pallamana is a locality in the Murraylands region of South Australia between the Mount Lofty Ranges and the Murray River, northwest of Murray Bridge.

Transport

Pallamana is where the former Sedan railway line crosses Reedy Creek Road (state route B35) which connects Palmer to Murray Bridge. The former station/siding was originally named Preamimma Railway Station. [2]

The Murray Bridge Airport is in the southeast of the locality of Pallamana. Another airfield named Rollo's Airfield ( ICAO : YRLO) is on the western side of Pallamana. [4]

Energy

RES Australia proposes to build a 176MW solar farm at Pallamana starting construction in autumn 2020. It would be located south of the airport on 730 hectares of what had previously been open farmland. [5] The solar farm would continue to be grazed by sheep between the solar panels. [6]

Peebinga is a town and locality in the Australian state of South Australia. Peebinga was the terminus of the Peebinga railway line which was built in 1914 as part of a major state government project to open up the Murray Mallee for grazing and cropping.

Elwomple is a locality in The Coorong District Council in the South Australian Murray Mallee, southeast of Tailem Bend. The northwest corner is the junction of the Mallee Highway which forms the northern boundary of Elwomple, and the Dukes Highway which forms the southwestern boundary. The Bend Motorsport Park was developed in Elwomple adjacent to this junction. In September 2017, before the facility opened, the boundary between Tailem Bend and Elwomple was adjusted so that The Bend Motorsport Park was officially in Tailem Bend, not Elwomple.

Stockyard Creek is a locality between Hamley Bridge and Owen, South Australia in the Mid North region of South Australia. It was established on the Hamley Bridge to Balaklava railway at the site of stockyards used by CB Fisher, 51+34 miles (83.3 km) north of Adelaide railway station.

Murray Bridge East is a semi-rural satellite locality of Murray Bridge in South Australia east of the Murray River and the eponymous bridge. Its boundaries were formalised in March 2000 to cover a portion of land immediately across the river to the east of the main Murray Bridge conurbation. It is bounded on the southwest by the Adelaide-Melbourne railway line and the defunct Rabila Railway Station is thus on the locality's southern boundary. The Karoonda Highway motor traffic route commences at Murray Bridge East and heads northeast through Karoonda to Loxton.

Gifford Hill is a semi-rural locality approximately 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) south west of the centre of Murray Bridge by road. It is named for the geographical feature of the same name which is thought to be named for South Australian pioneer, John Gifford.

Long Flat is a semi-rural satellite locality of Murray Bridge in South Australia on the east bank of the Murray River south of the eponymous bridge and Swanport Bridge.

Monteith is a rural locality inside a bend on the east (left) bank of the Murray River downstream (south) of Murray Bridge on the other bank. It is governed by the Rural City of Murray Bridge. The dominant industry is dairy farming on the flats near the river and other farming further away from the river. Many of the farms are long and narrow along Bells Road, with irrigated land on the river side and elevated land on the other side of the road, including a dairy and farm house.

Holder is a locality in the Riverland region of South Australia. It lies on the inside of a bend in the Murray River east (upstream) of Waikerie. Holder is bounded on the south side by the Sturt Highway and includes the Waikerie Airport and Maize Island Lagoon Conservation Park. The locality includes low-lying wetlands near river level and rising and higher ground up to the level at the top of the Murray cliffs where the airport and highway are. The sloping and higher ground is used for vineyards and fruit orchards, irrigated from the river. The school opened in 1925 and closed in 1991.

Milendella is a locality on the plains to the east of the Mount Lofty Ranges in South Australia. It was once a stop on the Sedan railway line. The name Milendella was approved by the state Nomenclature Committee in 1917 in advance of the railway opening in 1919. The name was the native name of Emu Creek which runs through the locality.
