Miss Venezuela is the national beauty pageant of Venezuela, traditionally held in September. It is preceded by two or three months of preliminary events, with the awarding of corporate prizes. The final televised competition generally lasts about four hours and is broadcast live across Latin America by Venevisión and produced by the networks parent company Cisneros Group, with edited versions to the United States and Mexico on the Univision and Telemundo networks. From 2013 to 2015, the national contest was split into two separate pageants: Miss Venezuela and Miss Venezuela Mundo. The pageant is also closely observed by other countries seeking to level competition due to its illustrious record of pageant victories. In 2016, the Venezuelan franchise for Miss Earth was awarded to Miss Earth Venezuela organized by National Directors Julio César Cruz and Alyz Henrich.

Miss Universe 2009, the 58th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 23 August at the Imperial Ballroom in Atlantis Paradise Island, Nassau, The Bahamas. Stefanía Fernández of Venezuela was crowned by Dayana Mendoza, also of Venezuela, at the end of the event, marking the first and only time in Miss Universe history that a country has won back-to-back titles.

Since 2017, the editions have been being organized frequently at the very end of odd years as opposed to the organization of Miss Vietnam on even years due to the Ministry of Culture's direction. The winner of the pageant will be crowned as the next year's Miss Universe Vietnam while one of the two runners-up could be appointed as the following year's one if the pageant is not allowed to be held in time. Therefore, there have been two types of Miss Universe Vietnam, crowned Miss Universe Vietnam will represent Vietnam at Miss Universe on even years while appointed/granted Miss Universe Vietnam will represent the country on odd years.

Bea Santiago of the Philippines was crowned as the Winner by Miss International 2008, Alejandra Andreu. This was the second consecutive year Japan hosted the Contest.

Miss International 2017, the 57th Miss International pageant, was held on November 14, 2017 at Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Kylie Verzosa of the Philippines crowned her successor Kevin Lilliana Junaedy of Indonesia at the end of the event. This edition also saw the crowning of the first ever moslem women to win Miss International, and was the first to win one of the four major international pageants for Indonesia.
Miss World 2017, the 67th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 18 November 2017 at the Sanya City Arena in Sanya, China. 118 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico crowned her successor Manushi Chhillar of India at the end of the event. She is the sixth Indian woman to win Miss World.
