The People's Party of the Community of Madrid (Spanish : Partido Popular de la Comunidad de Madrid, PP) is the regional branch of the People's Party in the Community of Madrid, as well as one of the historically most powerful organizations within the PP.

The 2015 Madrilenian regional election was held on Sunday, 24 May 2015, to elect the 10th Assembly of the Community of Madrid. All 129 seats in the Assembly were up for election. The election was held simultaneously with regional elections in twelve other autonomous communities and local elections all throughout Spain.

The 18th National Congress of the People's Party was held in Madrid from 10 to 12 February 2017, to renovate the governing bodies of the People's Party (PP) and establish the party's main lines of action and strategy for the next leadership term. The congress was initially due for 2015, but the various elections held in Spain that year and the deadlock in the government formation negotiations leading up to the 2016 general election, as well as a major crisis over the issue within the opposition Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), saw the event being delayed until early 2017.

The Government of the Community of Madrid is the collegiate body charged with the executive and administrative functions of the autonomous community of Madrid, Spain. Until the 1998 reform of the regional statute it was formally called Council of Government of the Community of Madrid.

The 19th National Congress of the People's Party, officially the 19th Extraordinary National Congress, was held in Madrid from 20 to 21 July 2018, to renovate the governing bodies of the People's Party (PP) and establish the party's main lines of action and strategy for the next leadership term. A primary election to elect the new party president was held on 5 July. The congress was called by the party's National Board of Directors on 11 June as a consequence of former Spanish prime minister Mariano Rajoy's resignation as PP leader on 5 June, following the motion of no confidence that had voted his government down on 1 June. The leadership election was the first whereby PP members directly participate in choosing a leader for the party. On 26 June 2018, it was announced that only 66,706 PP members out of the 869,535 reported by the party had registered to vote in the election.

The first government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso was formed on 20 August 2019, following the latter's election as President of the Community of Madrid by the Assembly of Madrid on 14 August and her swearing-in on 19 August, as a result of the People's Party (PP) and Citizens (Cs) being able to muster a majority of seats in the Assembly with external support from Vox following the 2019 Madrilenian regional election. It succeeded the Garrido government and was the Government of the Community of Madrid from 20 August 2019 to 21 June 2021, a total of 671 days, or 1 year, 10 months and 1 day.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Mónica García</span> Spanish politician (born 1974)

Mónica García Gómez is a Spanish anesthesiologist and politician, current coordinator and spokesperson of the political party Más Madrid in the Madrilenian Assembly. She was an elected deputy during the X legislature of the Madrilenian Assembly under the Spanish political party Podemos, and is currently a deputy in the XI legislature as part of Más Madrid. Since 2015, García has combined her political work with her job in health care, with a 50% reduction in working hours. She was appointed Minister of Health in the third government of Pedro Sánchez following the 2023 Spanish general elections.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">20th National Congress of the People's Party (Spain)</span>

The 20th National Congress of the People's Party, officially the 20th Extraordinary National Congress, was held in Seville from 1 to 2 April 2022, to renovate the leading bodies of the People's Party (PP) and establish the party's main lines of action and strategy for the next leadership term. A primary election to elect the new party president was held on 21 March. The congress was called following the forced ousting of both Pablo Casado as president and Teodoro García Egea as secretary-general in the aftermath of a major crisis that ravaged the party from 16 to 23 February. Galician president Alberto Núñez Feijóo became the party's new president.
