Peter Hall (born June 5, 1949) is a sailor from Canada, who represented his country at the 1987 Pan American Games in Indianapolis, United States with team members Scott Morgan and Alain Boucher where they took the Silver medal in the Soling. Also at the 2018 Vintage Yachting Games in Hellerup Denmark, Hall as helmsman together with his fellow crew members Gord de Vries and Johan Offermans (The Netherlands) took the silver medal in the Soling. Hall is representing Group P in the council of World Sailing. [29] Peter won so far four World Championships. Furthermore, he was president of the International Soling Association from 2015 - 2016.
He was born on June 5, 1949, in Montreal, Quebec, Hall attended the Lower Canada College at Monkland Village, and earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Queen's University at Kingston and a bachelor's degree in law from McGill University at Montreal.
Hall lives in Montreal, is married with Margot. The couple has 3 children: Krista, Nicolas and William.
Hall is (semi-)retired from a career as lawyer and business developer at Pratt & Whitney Canada, CAE Flight Simulators, Bell Helicopter Canada, Lavalin Engineering, Teleglobe International, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and Ingenium. Peter holds several board positions in the industry.
Peter started sailing early in life in several classes and is a life member of the Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club, Montreal. On the age of 26 he switched to the Soling in pursuit for an Olympic ticket. Besides the Soling he also kept sailing Lightning. After a few years without the Soling he returned to the class in 2006. Hall holds several North American Championships titles in the Soling, in the Lightning he holds one World Champions title as well as two Master titles. In 2011, 2012 and 2014 he became World Champion in the Soling. In 2012 and 14, his youngest son William was a member of the team. In 2013, 2014 and 2016 Peter received the Soling World Trophy. Peter was also president of Voile Quebec from 1994 to 1996. Peter Hall was inducted in 2017 to the Voile Québec Hall of Fame. [30]
The Soling is an open keelboat that holds the World Sailing "International class" status. The class was used from the 1972 Olympics until the 2000 Olympics as "Open three-person keelboat". Besides the Olympic career of the Soling the boat is used for international and local regattas as well as for recreational sailing. The Soling is managed by the International Soling Association under auspician of World Sailing since 1968.

Rudy den Outer is a sailor from the Netherlands, who represented his country at the 2008 Vintage Yachting Games in Medemblik, as helmsman in the Dutch Soling Sophie's Choice. Den Outer with crew members Leo Determan and Ronald den Arend took the Gold. In the 2012 Vintage Yachting Games, this time with crew members Gavin Lidlow and Ramzi Souli the team took the Silver medal in Bellano, Italy. In 2003 with helmsman Fred Imhoff and Richard van Rij he became European Champion in the Dragon at Kinsale, Ireland. Den Outer is also very active in the organization of major International Sailing events for Olympic and former Olympic classes.

The International Soling Association, ISA, was founded as soon as the Soling became an International class in 1967. Originally an "Owners Club" became a very self-supporting organization who provided great support for the whole Soling community and guarded the Soling one-design during her Olympic tour of duty as well as in the present time.

Theodorus "Theo" Adrianus de Lange is a sailor from the Netherlands, who represented his country at the 2018 Vintage Yachting Games in Hellerup Denmark. De Lange as middleman together with helmsman Rudy den Outer and Gabor Helmhout on the foredeck took the Gold medal in the Soling. During the 2019 North American Championship in Kingston, Ontario, De Lange again as middleman in the Dutch Soling Sophie’s Choice together with helmsman Rudy den Outer but now with Thies Bosch on the foredeck took first place. This was the first time European sailors won this championship in the over fifty years history of the North American Soling Championship!
Leo Determan is a sailor from the Netherlands, who represented his country at the 2008 Vintage Yachting Games in Medemblik The Netherlands. Determan in the middle together with helmsman Rudy den Outer and Ronald den Arend on the foredeck took the Gold medal in the Soling. Leo holds several Dutch titles and one Italian title (2010) in the Soling. He used to be member of Yacht Club VZOD, Rotterdam.
