Qualification for powerlifting at the 2024 Summer Paralympics begins on 1 March 2022 and ends on 26 June 2024. There will be a total of 180 powerlifters (80 male, 80 female and 20 gender-free).

An NPC can allocate eight male and eight female qualification slots; one eligible athlete per medal event.
Athletes are eligible for qualifying if they have completed the mandatory requirements of the Qualification Pathway 2021–2024, this includes competing at the 2021 and 2023 World Championships, 2022 regional championships and at least two World Para Powerlifting World Cups and are ranked in the preliminary Paralympic ranking list. Top ranked eight male and female powerlifters are automatically qualified to compete for their respective bodyweight category, as of 26 June 2024. A number of lifters are qualified across two classifications, and will have to select one to compete in. Athletes in italics have qualified at a lower weight and will have to select a competition weight.
Powerlifting at the 2016 Summer Paralympics was held at Riocentro from September, with a maximum of 180 athletes, competing in 20 events. According to the classification rules of the International Federation for Powerlifting athletes which cannot participate in weightlifting events because of a physical impairment affecting their legs or hips are deemed eligible to compete in powerlifting events at the Paralympics.
Malaysia sent athletes to the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7 September to 18 September 2016. The country qualified athletes in archery, cycling, sailing, wheelchair tennis, athletics and swimming. Dr Ang Kean Koo was the chef de mission of the Malaysian delegation.
South Africa entered 45 athletes in the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro from 7–18 September 2016. The country qualified athletes in archery, athletics, canoeing, cycling, equestrian, powerlifting, rowing, swimming, shooting and wheelchair tennis.

Honduras sent a delegation to compete at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7–18 September 2016. This was the nation's sixth appearance at a Summer Paralympiad after it debuted at the 1996 Summer Paralympics. The Honduran delegation to Rio de Janeiro consisted of two athletes: powerlifter Gabriel Zelaya Díaz and short-distance swimmer Emmanuel Díaz. Both competitors were not ranked in their respective competitions after Gabriel Zelaya Díaz was unable to lift any weights in his three tries and Emmanuel Díaz was two minutes late arriving to his event.
Great Britain competed in the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan. Originally scheduled to take place between 21 August and 6 September 2020, the Games were postponed to 24 August to 5 September 2021 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. British athletes have competed at all sixteen consecutive Summer Paralympics since 1960.
Athletics at the 2020 Summer Paralympics were to be held at the Tokyo National Stadium between 25 August and 6 September. Following the COVID-19 pandemic they have been rescheduled to between 24 August and 5 September 2021.

The taekwondo competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run from 7 to 10 August at the Grand Palais strip. 128 taekwondo fighters, with an equal distribution between men and women, will compete across eight different weight categories at the Games, the same amount as the previous editions since Beijing 2008. Each weight category is composed of sixteen taekwondo fighters; however, this figure may increase if additional athletes are invited and selected from the Refugee Olympic Team.
Qualification for swimming at the 2024 Summer Paralympics begin on 1 October 2022 and finish on 31 January 2024. There will be a total of 325 male and 280 female quotas in 141 swimming events.
Mexico is scheduled to compete at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, France from 28 August to 8 September, 2024.
