Qualification for powerlifting at the 2024 Summer Paralympics begins on 1 March 2022 and ends on 26 June 2024. There will be a total of 180 powerlifters (80 male, 80 female and 20 gender-free).

An NPC can allocate eight male and eight female qualification slots; one eligible athlete per medal event.
Athletes are eligible for qualifying if they have completed the mandatory requirements of the Qualification Pathway 2021–2024, this includes competing at the 2021 and 2023 World Championships, 2022 regional championships and at least two World Para Powerlifting World Cups and are ranked in the preliminary Paralympic ranking list. Top ranked eight male and female powerlifters are automatically qualified to compete for their respective bodyweight category, as of 26 June 2024.
Paralympic powerlifting, also known as para powerlifting and para-lifting, is an adaptation of the sport of powerlifting for athletes with disabilities. The only discipline in Paralympic powerlifting is the bench press. The sport is governed by the International Paralympic Committee and is open to anyone with a minimum level of disability who can extend their arms within 20° of full extension during a lift. Powerlifting has been competed at the Summer Paralympics since 1984.
Adeline Dumapong-Ancheta is a Filipina retired Paralympic powerlifter. She became the first Filipina to win a Paralympic medal ever when she won bronze at the 2000 Summer Paralympics.
Powerlifting at the 2016 Summer Paralympics was held at Riocentro from September, with a maximum of 180 athletes, competing in 20 events. According to the classification rules of the International Federation for Powerlifting athletes which cannot participate in weightlifting events because of a physical impairment affecting their legs or hips are deemed eligible to compete in powerlifting events at the Paralympics.

The 2021 World Para Powerlifting Championships was a powerlifting competition for athletes with a disability. It was held in Tbilisi, Georgia from 27 November to 5 December. It was previously scheduled to be held in Batumi, Georgia and, before that, it was scheduled to be held in Eger, Hungary.
Israel is scheduled to compete at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris from 28 August to 8 September 2024.
The taekwondo competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run from 7 to 10 August at the Grand Palais strip. 128 taekwondo fighters, with an equal distribution between men and women, will compete across eight different weight categories at the Games, the same amount as the previous editions since Beijing 2008. Each weight category is composed of sixteen taekwondo fighters; however, this figure may increase if additional athletes are invited and selected from the Refugee Olympic Team.
France is competing as the host nation of the 2024 Summer Paralympics in their capital Paris from 28 August to 8 September 2024. It will be the first time that France will be hosting the Summer Paralympics, they have hosted the Winter Paralympics in Albertville in 1992.
