Preah Sihanouk Municipality, also Sihanoukville Municipality, is one of the four districts of Sihanoukville Province in Cambodia. [1] In 1998, it had an urban population of 67,440. [2] In addition to Sihanoukville city and Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, the islands Koh Puos, Koh Preab, Koh Doung, Koh Kaong Kang, Koh Tres, Koh Koun, Koh Tuich, Koh Rong, and Koh Rong Sanloem are under Sihanoukville’s administration. Preah Netr Preah is a district (srok) in the east of Banteay Meanchey Province, in north-western Cambodia. The district capital is Preah Netr Preah town located around 24 kilometres due east of the provincial capital of Sisophon by road. Preah Netr Preah District is one of the easternmost districts of Banteay Meanchey. The district shares a border with both Siem Reap Province and Battambang Province to the east and the south respectively. Two major watercourses, the Sangke River and the Mongkol Borei River run through the district.

Kampong Seila District District in Sihanoukville, Cambodia

Kampong Seila District is a district (srok) in southwestern Cambodia, which formerly belonged to Koh Kong province. In January 2009, King Norodom Sihamoni incorporated the district into Sihanoukville province per royal decree, which states: "The administrative boundaries of Sihanoukville municipality and Koh Kong province shall be adjusted by sub-dividing land from Kampong Seila district in whole and partial land of Sre Ambel district in Koh Kong province to Sihanoukville municipality." Officials were assigned to create a "national workshop" process all necessary administrative tasks. The National Institute of Statistics of Cambodia refers in its most recent and preliminary studies to a successful integration of the district, including maps, although concluding statistics and numbers are expected to be available with the next full report. Sihanoukville province's new official domain already runs administration of Kampong Seila district.

Ream National Park

Ream National Park, its official name is Preah Sihanouk Ream National Park, is a national park of Cambodia located 18 km (11 mi) from Sihanoukville city in the Prey Nob district of the Sihanoukville Province in south-eastern Cambodia. It was established in 1993, as the Cambodian government began to take action for the protection of the country's threatened natural resources. The national park's biological value is defined by its combination of rivers, forests, mangroves, estuaries, beaches, coral reefs, wildlife, and marine life.

Koh Poulo Wai

Koh Wai, Khmer: កោះពូលូវៃ, also known as Poulo Wai or the Wai Islands, is a group of two small wooded and uninhabited islands in the Gulf of Siam. The islands are located far away from the shore, 95 kilometres to the southwest of the coast of Preah Sihanouk Province, Cambodia. Administratively Koh Wai falls under Kampot Province. The Khmer word Koh (កោះ), means 'island' translated into English. Poulo Wai is of Malayan origin.

Koh Rong Sanloem

Koh Rong Sanloem is an island off the coast of Sihanoukville, Cambodia, 4 km (2 mi) south of Koh Rong island. It is around 9 km (6 mi) long, 4 km (2 mi) wide and 1 km (1 mi) wide at its narrowest point. Its distance from the local port of Sihanoukville is 25 km (16 mi) (beeline) and 23 km (14 mi) (beeline) from the Serendipity/Ochheuteal beach pier. The word "Sanloem" translates to: 1. drowsiness and to: 2. far out and hard to discern, in a wider sense. Inconsistencies on how to spell the island's name in its Latinized version date back to the 19th century. The first controversial spelling variants were issued by map makers during French rule. Alternatives have since become widespread and are in common usage. Often confusion ensues as Google Maps offers the phonetically most consistent variant, whereas Google Search redirects to an alternative.

Koh Preab

Koh Preab, Khmer: កោះព្រាប, "Dove Island", named "Île du Départ" during the French colonial period is an island of Cambodia, situated in the Bay of Kompong Saom Sihanoukville Province near its south-eastern coast. This small island has been integrated into the local harbor's breakwater just north of the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port. The estimated terrain elevation above sea level is 3 meters. A unit of the Royal Cambodian Navy is based on the island.

Koh Thmei

Koh Thmei, is an island of Cambodia, situated in the Gulf of Thailand, immediately south-east of the Sihanoukville headland. Although clearly inside the protected area of Ream National Park, a number of development companies have obtained long lasting land-lease concessions since 2010. Announced were large-scale plans, including a bridge to the mainland. By August 2014 the island hasn't yet undergone any alterations. In early 2018, development hastened on the island, partly prompted by the launch of the Golden Silver Gulf Tourism Zone project, which encompasses Koh Thmei.

Sihanoukville (city) City in Sihanoukville, Cambodia

Sihanoukville, also known as Kampong Som is a coastal city in Cambodia and the capital of Sihanoukville Province, at the tip of an elevated peninsula in the country's south-west on the Gulf of Thailand. The city is flanked by an almost uninterrupted string of beaches along its entire coastline and coastal marshlands bordering the Ream National Park in the east. The city has one navigable river, the mangrove lined Ou Trojak Jet running from Otres Pagoda to the sea at Otres. A number of thinly inhabited islands – under Sihanoukville's administration – are near the city, where in recent years moderate development has helped to attract a sizable portion of Asia's individual travelers, students, and backpackers.
