[There has been speculation for a long time about whether CITU president K Hemlata and her son Arun Kumar will be included in the Politburo this time. Both are members of the Central Committee.]

[Along with practicality, both of them possess a strong theoretical foundation. In the new era, it will be Vijoo and Arun who will guide the CPI(M) theoretically — in building a broad united front based on Marxism-Leninism, and in adopting an approach to consolidate the worker–peasant–women–youth–student fronts.]
