College, Koyilandy was established in 1975 at Koyilandy, Kozhikode, Kerala and then moved in 1986 to current campus in Muchukunnu about 7 km north east of Koyilandy Town.It was named after the great social reformerSayyid Abdul RahmanBafakhy Thangal who hailed from Koyilandy. Bafakhy Thangal, honoured by the title Qaid al Qawm, was instrumental in the reform and modernisation of the minority community that happened during the past century and promoted the advent of modern educational institutions of education. Malabar Wildlife Sanctuary

Malabar Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area located along the Western Ghats and spread across 74 square kilometres (29 sq mi) in Chakkittapara and Koorachundu revenue villages of Koyilandy Taluk in Kozhikode, Kerala. The sanctuary is part of the western ghats, a biodiversity hotspot. It also comes under the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve and forms a part of the Wayanad Elephant Reserve.
