The first radio broadcast in Poland happened on 1 February 1925 and the industry is still alive today.

The first message transmitted through radio in Poland was broadcast on 1 February 1925 (though foreign stations could be listened to in the country [2] ) from the station of the Polish Radio Engineering Company in Mokotów, Warsaw. The programme announced the future creation of Polskie Radio. Polskie Radio was eventually established the next year and the first words, said by Janina Sztompkówna, were:
Halo, halo, tu Polskie Radio Warszawa, fala 480. [3]
Translation:
Hello, hello, this is Polskie Radio Warsaw, wave 480.
Local editions of Polskie Radio started being created all across the country, usually as initiatives of the places' citizens. After Warsaw, the radio was launched in Kraków on 15 February 1927, in Poznań on 29 April, in Katowice on 4 December, in Vilnius in 1928, and in L'viv and Łódź [4] in 1930. Polskie Radio Poznań was the first radio to report a football match (Warta Poznań v. Philips Eindhoven). [5]
During the German occupation of Poland, radios were confiscated from citizens in order to stop them from listening to anti-Nazi broadcasts. [4] They were also used to spread propaganda, with stations in Gdańsk, Toruń, Poznań, Katowice, Warsaw, Kraków, Szczecin and Wrocław. [2]
As people moved to Poland, the number of radios rose. [6] The radio became an important part of life for a person. The reorganisation of radio programs was a part of the process of rebuilding the economy. [7]
On 3 May 1953, Radio Free Europe started being transmitted to Poland from Munich. On 2 January 1976, Program IV of Polskie Radio was created. [4]
After the fall of communism in Poland, many private radio stations were opened. The first private station was Radio Małopolska Fun, established on 15 January 1990. The first station which broadcast music—as well as the first commercial station—was Radio ZET established on 28 September the same year. [4] [8] In the following years, many other popular stations were opened, such as Złote Przeboje, Eska and Radio Maryja. [9] [10] [11]

Owsiak is the main initiator and promoter for the group's Grand Finale, an annual worldwide festival where money is raised for the medical care of children as well as the elderly suffering from various medical conditions. He is also the creator of the annual Pol'and'Rock Festival, formerly known as Przystanek Woodstock, the largest annual music festival in Poland, and one of the largest annual music festivals in the world.
The Gdańsk Stadium, known for sponsorship reasons as the Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk since May 2021, is a football stadium in Gdańsk, Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Lechia Gdańsk, which competes in the Ekstraklasa. The stadium is located at the 1 Pokoleń Lechii Gdańsk Street in the northern part of the city. The total capacity is 41,620 spectators, all seated and roofed. The stadium is the second largest arena in Ekstraklasa and the third largest in the country.

RMF FM is the first commercial radio station in Poland, currently broadcasting in AC radio format. RMF FM started broadcasting on 15 January 1990 in Kraków. The current director is Tadeusz Sołtys. The radio is wholly owned by the German Bauer Verlagsgruppe. It is the first private radio station in Poland and is available throughout the country.

The Gdańsk tram system is a tram network in Gdańsk, Poland that has been in operation since 1873. The tramway is operated by Gdańskie Autobusy i Tramwaje (GAiT) and managed by the Zarząd Transportu Miejskiego w Gdańsku. There are 11 lines with a total line length of 109.2 kilometres (67.9 mi). The system operates on 1,435 mmstandard gauge track.

The 'Golden Hits' of the name originally referred to music from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. The radio operator since 26 November 2012 is Jarosław Barwiak, and the music director since August 2018 is Joanna Sołtysiak.
"Mój jest ten kawałek podłogi", also known as "Kawałek podłogi", is a Polish-language alternative rock song by the band Mr. Zoob, written by Waldemar Miszczor. It was released in 1986 as a single and later on the 1987 Czego się gapisz? album. It is recognized as one of the most famous Polish-language rock songs and one of the most famous songs of the band. The song is about jailed man, who demands to have his own "piece of the floor", which is an allegory to people fighting for their freedom under the communist regime of the Polish People's Republic in the 1980s.
