Ramgarh Test Range

Ramgarh Test Range is an out-door testing and evaluating facility of Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL).

It is spread over an area of 5500 acre of land and is located at village Ramgarh, District Panchkula, Haryana, 22 km away from Chandigarh. [1] [2] Ramgarh Test Range is divided into a number of technical zones/trial areas. Each zone takes up specific types of firing trials. [3] Zones have been so designed and spaced as to allow the conduct of experimental trials independent of each other. The facilities established at this range provide high-speed photography, flash radiography, blast and pressure parameters, lethality and fragmentation studies, impact phenomenon studies, etc. [3]

Arjun (tank) Main battle tank

The Arjun is a third generation main battle tank developed by the Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE) of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), for the Indian Army. The tank is named after Arjuna, the archer prince who is the main protagonist of the Indian epic poem Mahabharata. Design work began in 1986 and was finished in 1996. The Indian Ballistic Missile Defence Program is an initiative to develop and deploy a multi-layered ballistic missile defence system to protect India from ballistic missile attacks. Phase 1 has been successfully tested and completed and deployment awaits final official permission. Phase 2 is under development.

Agni-I Indian short-range ballistic missile

Agni-I is a medium-range ballistic missile that was developed by DRDO of India in the Integrated Guided Missile Development Program. It is a single-stage missile that was developed after the Kargil War to fill the gap between the 250 km (160-mile) range of the Prithvi-II missile and the 2,500 km (1,600-mile) range of the Agni-II. It was first launched from a road mobile launcher at Integrated Test Range (ITR), Wheeler Island, on 25 January 2002. Less than 75 launchers are deployed.

DRDO Armoured Ambulance

The DRDO Armoured Ambulance is a tracked vehicle based on "Sarath" Indian license-produced variant of BMP-2. Designed by the Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE), a branch of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), it is manufactured at the Ordnance Factory Medak.

India has studied, produced and used various strategic and tactical missile systems since its independence. Decades long projects have realised development of all types of missile systems including ballistic, cruise, anti-ship, air-defence, air to air and anti-missile systems. India is one of seven countries in the world with ICBMs and one of four countries with anti-ballistic missile systems. Pashan Test Range is an out-door testing and evaluating facility of Armament Research and Development Establishment for armament stores.

The Tandur Test Range is an outdoor trial field being built by the Indian Defence Research and Development Organisation (Drdo) for the development of electronic warfare systems. It is spread over an area of 8000 acres of land. It is located in the Tandur district of Telangana, 135 km away from Hyderabad. The project is being set up with a planned investment of Rs 500 Crores. As of 2010 it was expected to be operational in 2013 and will test communication electronic warfare systems.

Machilipatnam test Range Project is a missile test range facility planned by DRDO of India.

Rudram-1 Indian anti-radiation missile system

The Rudram-1 is an air-to-surface anti-radiation missile in development by the Defence Research and Development Organisation of India. It is primarily meant for suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD), that can be launched from a range of altitudes with large standoff distance for destroying enemy surveillance radars, tracking and communication systems. It is first anti-radiation missile to be developed in India and will be jointly produced by Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) after trials and introduction.

The DRDO Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon (SAAW) is a long-range precision-guided anti-airfield weapon developed by India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). It is designed to be capable of engaging ground targets with high precision up to a range of 100 kilometres (62 mi).

QRSAM Indian surface-to-air missile

Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QRSAM) is a missile developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Bharat Electronics Limited and Bharat Dynamics Limited for the Indian Army, meant for protecting moving armoured columns from aerial attacks.

Ipsita Biswas Indian terminal ballistics scientist

Ipsita Biswas is an Indian terminal ballistics scientist. In 2019 she was conferred India's highest civilian award for women, the Narishakti Puruskar, for her contributions to India's armed forces, paramilitary forces and women's empowerment in defence research and development.
