This species occurs in the Red Sea and in the Indian Ocean off Chagos, Kenya, Madagascar, the Mascarene Basin, Mauritius, Mozambique, Réunion, the Seychelles, Somalia and Tanzania and off Australia (Northern Territory, Queensland, Western Australia) and Vanuatu. [2]
